Excellent Perormance
Revisado: 07-26-18
I thoroughly enjoyed the premise and the story... can't wait to discover what is behind the real world issues. Usually i find the real-world storyline to be a distraction from the "real story" in the game world, however the writer doesn't spend an inordinate amount of time out of the Game, which is the reason that I enjoy this genre to begin with. So i'm able to follow both storylines without that feeling of being taken out of the emersion, if you get what i mean.
Great job, can't wait for book 2... about to read it on amazon right now.

The story starts well and draws you in,
Revisado: 06-13-18
but ultimately goes nowhere. The main character is annoying as all hell.
The LITRPG aspect is severely lacking. There is no tracking of experiences, skills development or finances of the main character. Hence he levels up or is limited whenever the writer thinks it's convenient. There are many scenarios where they stat things are expensive but never state the value and he is constantly looting items, but you never get any idea of how valuable they are. It feels like the writer was too lazy to keep track of that level of details.
I did not enjoy the story! Because it had so much potential for the genre, that was left unfulfilled.
Maybe the writer should focus on an emotion based genre such as Romance? Because they messed up what could have been a great LitRPG story.

Revisado: 03-11-18
Story reads like a daydream of a fantasy in the guise LitRPG. The MCs were never in any real danger. They were pathetically overpowered while at the same time consistently underusing their abilities. The game world is inconsistent- The allies (friendly NPC) are sapient while the dungeon enemies (or other unfriendly NPC) are automatons. Either the value of money is inconsistent or the way characters react to large amounts of money is inconsistent. The book just feel like someone in a daydream where everyone and everything reacts and behaves just as you fantasize they would.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

The first Time i Tried Listening I Gave UP....
Revisado: 05-01-15
I read Sanderson's Misborn series and was intrigued. So I decided to try this huge tome. After "trying" to listen to it the first time I gave up. I felt as thought I started reading the book from the middle and I couldn't follow. I actually returned the book to get my credit back.
After a long time of TRYING to find something fulfilling in sci-fi and fantasy... I kept seeing this novel's high ratings and a read a few reviews noting that many others had the similar jarring experience when the first started the book... some where bored and gave up... but by and far, most of those who followed it through fell in love with it... I wanted to see if that could be me, and so I gave it a second chance. Boy was that a choice that I'm glad I made. It started the same way the second time, but I hung in there through the initial rapid changes in point of views (POVs) until it got to the Kaladin story line. Then there was something that I could hold on to... I wished to know more about this guy and why he was in the position he was in... and boy did i get what I wished for. By the end I felt like Kal and I were old buds, I felt like i was a bridge 4 member who had been inspired by my bridge leader. I left wanting more.
By the end of the story, all of my initial confusion was indeed resolved, they were of course some questions left to be answered, but thats why the series is projected to be 10 books long.
I really enjoyed this book, more than any other that I've listened to on Audible. I highly recommend it.

Science, scientists and Say no to Creationsim
Revisado: 07-22-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
It was an informative book that give the background into why science is at the state that it is at today. Anyone who has every wondered why we 'know' what we know about the world may find many answers in the book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Its hard to choose there are so many nuggets of info all over the book and i devoured it all.
What does Richard Matthews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
That sarcastic tone that perhaps the author was trying for, comes across effortlessly.
Do you think A Short History of Nearly Everything needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
They are no real explanations to why there is life... they basically say that the theory of creation/creator is not try without offering an explanation as to why it's false and propose that they may be some other 'rational' explanation... and that right after saying that the chances of life happening spontaneously is about as good as a tornado passing through a junk yard and leaving behind a fully assembled Boeing 747... which is to say it doesn't happen, but then proceeds to say you shouldn't question it too much because it's like questioning why you saw one car on the street today instead of another.
They are making the same mistake that they tell us other scientists made in the past... because they cannot prove a theory they discard it, while forgetting that they theory they hold close while seemingly plausible to them remands just as unproven. That's not science, that's religion. We can't hold on to some theories and reject other based on our own biased views on how we thing the universe should work.
There is no evidence of life on other planets even though we think that the possibility of it's existence if plausible, but we shouldn't act like its a forgone conclusion, or we may miss the opportunity of investigating whether there is something else about the earth that caused improbably life to spring forth in such abundance... we really haven't scratched to surface, so now it not the time to be drawing unproven conclusions and discarding possible ideas, even if unlikely, for life itself if unlikely but it never the less is.
