Historia
Deep in the African rain forest, near the legendary ruins of the Lost City of Zinj, an expedition of eight American geologists are mysteriously and brutally killed in a matter of minutes. Ten thousand miles away, Karen Ross, the Congo Project Supervisor, watches a gruesome video transmission of the aftermath: a camp destroyed, tents crushed and torn, equipment scattered in the mud alongside dead bodies - all motionless except for one moving image - a grainy, dark, man-shaped blur.

The narration is fantastic
Revisado: 07-11-22
Crichton is a great storyteller, but want to really review the narrator. She was wonderful. I feel so picky about narration, and find that so many narrators sound either robotic or like they are a 1970s anchorman. Julia Whelan sounds natural and does voices wonderfully.

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

Many things are not okay even if they are part of a another person's different moral framework.

Historia
Brain over Binge provides both a gripping personal account and an informative scientific perspective on bulimia and binge eating disorder. The author, Kathryn Hansen, candidly shares her experience as a bulimic and her alternative approach to recovery. Brain over Binge is different from other eating disorder books which typically present binge eating and purging as symptoms of complex emotional and psychological problems.

This is a whole paradigm shift for me.

You don't have to wait for some magical resolution of all your problems to stop the eating problem plagues you. there is nothing wrong with you. It is just neurological junk in your lower brain, and the lower brain can't make you act on anything. you don't need to fight anymore.
