Good cozy murder mystery
Revisado: 08-18-23
I haven't delved into audio books in a while but I really enjoyed this one. Without giving anything away... I thought the storyline of the mystery itself was good. There were some predictable parts but not so much that it was annoying but thats why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I live in the region in which the book is set (philadlephia region.. South East PA) and I thought the description of the area and of PA in general was pretty good and actually made me feel more involved with the story. I can't wait to start book 2.

Historia
Born to a pioneering family in Upstate New York in the late 1800s, Allene Tew was beautiful, impetuous, and frustrated by the confines of her small hometown. At eighteen, she met Tod Hostetter at a local dance, having no idea that the mercurial charmer she would impulsively wed was heir to one of the wealthiest families in America. But when he died twelve years later, Allene packed her bags for New York City. Never once did she look back.

interesting life story
Revisado: 02-08-19
I found this to be very interesting. the way it was written made it seem almost like fiction but it wasn't. you really got into Eileen's life and the american history within the Victorian era was very interesting. I would recommend this book.

Historia
On the surface, the Victorian age is one of propriety, industry, prudishness and piety. But scratch the surface and you’ll find scandal, sadism, sex, madness, malice and murder. Presented by Stephen Fry, this series delves deep into a period of time we think we know, to discover an altogether darker reality. The stories we’re told offer a different perspective on an era which underwent massive social change. As education, trade, technology and culture blossomed, why was there an undercurrent of the ‘forbidden’ festering beneath Victorian society?

great
Revisado: 12-27-18
I've always been fascinated with Victorian London and this was a very interesting audio book as it went Into detail about the little hidden and mysterious things from that time period. coincidentally this Audio book would have probably been a hit during the Victorian time.

good but somewhat predictable
Revisado: 12-17-18
the first book in this series still is my favorite. this one is okay but it was kinda predictable. it's about marigold (one of the older daughters). I really like linnea and her story the best.

alright book
Revisado: 11-20-18
this book was alright. I liked it better then the second book in the series. a couple of the characters are kinda too naive for my liking. but I still really like the overall basis of this series. I give an overall 4 because the reader did a good job (gave 5 stars) and the book was good but the two characters who were naive annoyed me (which is why I gave the story 3 stars). I recommend this if you are invested in the series already.
