Historia
Although named after the Egyptian goddess Isis - a figure widely associated with magic and nature - this audiobook's scope ranges far beyond ancient Egypt. The author examines the ancient spiritual pantheons of the East, with sections upon Buddhism and Hinduism. These ancient beliefs are strongly believed to hold much value by the author, who discusses the essential truths about the nature of reality, consciousness, and the place of humanity on the Earth. This lengthy and eclectic treatise is considered to be one of the greatest ever produced in the field of esotericism.

Impossible Narration
Revisado: 02-15-23
So unfortunate. Had someone just told this narrator in the beginning the book would sound nonsensical with his inflections consistently inappropriate, he might have corrected it and not wasted his, and our time. Completely unlistenable. Hopefully he went on to get it right because his voice was very clear and exhibited an enthusiastic quality that I believe he possesses outside of this significant oddity in his narration of this book. I am returning and that is disappointing as the content may have been great.

A Real and fun read; fantastic take on the Tarot
Revisado: 02-07-23
I am on my second listen, with Ms. Rachel True's beautiful Tarot cards in hand this time. I am very impressed with this young woman, with her Tarot and life knowledge, and her willingness to share intimate details of her inner thoughts on her journey. She narrates the book herself and it is a spirited, spunky and entertaining performance in my opinion. The whole experience of this book is life, and Tarot, affirming for me. I am definitely pleased that I came across her creation(s).

Historia
Are there dimensions of existence beyond the material world? If so, can we connect with loved ones who have passed, and with higher levels of consciousness than our own? Messages of Hope is the pause-resisting story of a former skeptic who has found the answers to these questions and more through evidential communication with the unseen realms. Commander Suzanne Giesemann, former US Navy commanding officer and aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, never expected that a personal family tragedy would propel her on a mystical journey.

Immersive and enjoyable read
Revisado: 08-21-20
Very nice well paced listen, on the lighter side in depth Wished it was longer, once I started I did not want to put it down. Enjoyed the characters a lot having grown up in the time period. Would have appreciated getting a bit more definition on a few of them particularly the main character. A few times I found myself not being able to picture him in my minds eye in as much detail as I would have liked. Interesting and credible history and military references thruout. Narrator has great and varied array of voices and takes his time letting the story develop. I really coul not be more pleased with his performance.. I am glad I listened to this book and I was disappointed when it ended.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Understated Brilliance
Revisado: 12-04-18
This book reminded me that sense of awe I have felt a few times when a talented author seems to effortlessly roll the story out in just the right doses of depth. Not too much, not too little, just the right amounts of light vs dark, sadness vs joy, detail vs ambiguity, predictability vs shock. Every element of the story and the emotion it brought forth felt balanced, comfortable and definitely an enjoyable and relaxing listen. The reader? Days later I am still hearing her lovely, warm and unassuming voice and wishing her Kaya was real. She really helped bring the characters to life in my imagination.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

It doesn't get any better than this...
Revisado: 10-08-16
What did you love best about The Girl on the Train?
The story is absolutely mesmerizing and the narration incredible. It is as if the narrators ARE the characters themselves. When the book was over I badly wanted those characters to continue to be real, because they seemed as if they were while listening and I didn't want to lose them.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Girl on the Train?
The main character recapturing bits of memory little by little while experiencing flashbacks were stunningly suspenseful and impactful moments in the book.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrators absolutely bring the book to life in too many ways to mention. The depth of the emotions they convey, the complexity of the personalities they portray, the realness of the joys and the fears and the sorrows. The narrators powerfully magnify the human experience greatly enhancing the story (which itself is beyond excellent!). Silky smooth accents, expertly timed inflections, emotional emphasis, tone and pace of the narration, I adored the voices of these narrators and their ability to totally immerse me in the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This book had many many moving moments. I cried when listening to the experiences of the mother in the bathtub during the storm. I felt the humiliation and fear and self loathing of being out of control. And love lost - Who can't relate to that? So many of the experiences in the book are common to the human condition in large or small ways throughout, depending on one's own life journey, there is definitely something for everyone.
Any additional comments?
I do believe this is one of the top two or maxiumum three books I have ever read. And I am older and there have been thousands....
