Historia
In the fifth book of the multi-author Sundering series, New York Times best-selling author Troy Denning sends an embittered paladin, Kleef Kenric, on a quest to stop evil forces from taking advantage of the chaos rolling across the land of Faern and claiming dominion over the entirety of the Realms. Stubbornly clinging to his family’s worship of a long-forgotten god, Kleef Kenric soon discovers that his god has blessed him with divine gifts, making him one of a new group of Chosen cropping up around the Realms.

A good story, but it was rushed or to slow

Solid narrator, enjoyable story
Revisado: 05-08-22
The story is a relatively brisk journey tale with enjoyable characters. Nothing too dramatically "deep", but a fun romp kept at a good pace.
The narrator's voice is easy to listen to, has enough differentiation in his affectations for main characters and manages to add some emotion to the quick dialogue.
Good stuff

Historia
In the 2nd book of the multi-author Sundering series launched by New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore, the shadow legacy of Erevis Cale lives on even as his old foe Mephistopheles seeks to stamp it out at any cost. Cale’s son Vasen - unmoored in time by the god Mask - has thus far been shielded from the archdevil’s dark schemes, alone among the servants of the Lord of Light who have raised him since birth. Living in a remote abbey nestled among the Thunder Peaks of Sembia, Vasen is haunted by dreams of his father, trapped in the frozen hell of Cania.

Solid story and narration, harsh topics/realities
Revisado: 05-05-22
The author does not pull punches. Loss is a constant theme in the novel.
I loved the narrator's voice, it fit the grim story and characters rather well.
The story is well driven, the multiple threads coming together nicely at the right times. Good pacing, decent character development.
It was definitely a story I found myself eager to get back into whenever I needed to stop.

Historia
Before Farideh took a devil's pact, before she was Chosen by the god-king of the Hells, before any of this started, there was Bryseis Kakistos, the original Brimstone Angel, first of Farideh's line. Now, at the end, there is also Bryseis Kakistos - but this time, instead of helping the king of the Hells achieve godhood, she's going to kill him. All she needs is a little help from Farideh - which she should, by all accounts, be happy to give. After all, who could object to killing the king of the Hells?

I wish there were more of these to listen to!
Revisado: 04-16-22
Dina Pearlman immediately became one of my favorite narrators from the first few paragraphs of the first book in this series. She continues her trend of solid voice acting and serious effort in pronouncing some seriously tongue twisting names/words. Strong from start to finish, any critiques for me would be extremely minor. Dina is THE voice of Havilar/Farideh for me.
Erin Evans has capstoned her novel run tidily with this book. Leaving so much potential for more after tackling some serious world building. I'd listen to another 6 books just as intently if she was able to put them out. I love, love, love her world building and character banter. How she manages to largely keep momentum going and seemlessly slip into conversations that happened off-page. Seriously talented lady, I'm very much looking forward to her new series unrelated to DnD.
