Historia
Rome, 107 BC. Quintus Sertorius just lost his father, and he may lose his home. When his rural village is stripped of its political status, he must leave his family to secure their food and protection from inside Rome's cutthroat government. As he transitions from countryman to politician, he's thrust into the middle of a bitter political war…. As Quintus struggles to gain the aid his village so desperately needs, he approaches Gaius Marius, the uncle of Julius Caesar himself.

Gripping Story

It took a bit to get used to the narrator, but once I did, I was hooked.

Historia
Tribune Cato and Centurion Macro, hardened veterans of the Roman army, have faced the empire's enemies from Britannia to Parthia, from Hispania to Judea. Now once again they are on a mission that will imperil their lives and those of all who serve with them. Loyal to the last to their comrades in battle, fearless in the face of the most brutal or barbaric opponents, they are the finest men the emperor can call on in the service of Rome.

Good, but too Predictable
Revisado: 07-08-24
Good but not one of the better ones. Too predictable. Early on you find yourself saying “I know how this is going to end.” Worth at least one listen though.

Historia
58 AD, Rome. Agricola, teenage son of an impoverished yet distinguished noble family, has staked all his resources and reputation on a military career. His reward? A posting as tribune in the far-off northern province of Britannia. Serving under renowned general Suetonius Paulinus, Agricola soon learns the brutality of life on the very edges of the empire, for the Celtic tribes of Britannia are far from vanquished. To take control of the province, the Romans must defeat the ancient might of the druids.

Interesting
Revisado: 06-30-24
Unexpectedly interesting. I like the author’s work but I wasn’t sure about Agricula as a main character. The only complaint is the voice of Agricula…too nasal and it reminded me too much of the voice you would expect from a PITA character.
Well worth the listen though.

Historia
Maurice Questing was left to die in a pool of boiling mud. Chief Inspector Roderick Alleyn knew that any number of people could have killed him: the English exiles he'd hated, the New Zealanders he'd despised or the Maoris he'd insulted. Even the spies he'd thwarted - if he wasn't a spy himself.

Weak
Revisado: 06-23-23
Not sure this one should have been included in the series. I can’t say more without it becoming a spoiler alert. You can figure out what is going on in the late chapters but I didn’t find the story line clever.
