the first chapter was okay and then... just no. this was a best selling novel? so many themes - no thought follow through. one minute we are dealing with childlike parents and then we are worried about an underground fight. it was soap opera whiplash at its finest.

this book was a lot of fun to listen to. I stayed up all night because I couldn't get enough of it. I love the narrator. She's so sassy and I look forward to listening to more from this author. Bravo!

Great story - recording was bad.

I love this series. I had a hard time with this one because I could hear the narrator fidgeting with either the microphone or something in front of it. It's very subtle and probably most people can't hear it but I listen to stuff through my earphones and it took away from the story for me. Otherwise this is another great story by tetrault and I will listen to her books as they continue to come out.

This one fell flat for me just like book 3 did. I think it was impossible after Mal's story to top that. The humor was the same and I Justin seem to find it all that funny. Still a non-American writing about an American city and The phrases we use or particularly don't use also turned me off in book 3. I was hoping the editors would catch some more of that in book 4. Although it was fun to hear Mal and Anne in this one, then just didn't do it for me. And unfortunately I can't listen to Andi anymore because she only sounds like and to me now. Wish I had better things to say.

What made the experience of listening to Someone to Keep Me the most enjoyable?

I just adore the story. It is one that I will continue to listen to over and over again. I love the dynamics of Thomas and Leo and Alex and Peter. I want to have dinner with all of them. They are my fictional family for sure.

What did you like best about this story?

It makes the club look normal. The way the boys play is fun. It's not over-the-top. There are actual limits and I trust the author to keep that steady.

Which scene was your favorite?

Of course the scene was when Joe asked the boy to strip. Nailbiting!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh God I hate the mother and father so when they showed up I think I just knew and start bawling. I suppose I would've cried more about Ben's mom but the author didn't really make it that big of a deal. I think I expected more from that.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This book was so terribly long. I understand that books need to be long because so much comes up and events happen. I also understand that this was sort of a coming of age and coming out novel however it could've easily been executed in half the time. By the end I was rolling my eyes at the redundancy. I skipped parts and didn't feel like I missed anything. With the amount of money I spent on this, I think I expected more.

What about Nick J. Russo’s performance did you like?

I am a dedicated Russo fan. I will listen to pretty much everything that comes out of that man's mouth. He did a phenomenal job. I imagine that he was glad when it was over as well.

Did Beneath the Stain inspire you to do anything?

LOL. The next book I downloaded was BDSM. I needed something up tempo and frivolous. Mind you I never listen to BDSM

Any additional comments?

When in doubt, cut it out. I did love Macky and Trav is cool but it could've been shorter.

Oh jees. The love stories this author brings us are exciting and fresh. I have listened to this audio twice. Back to back.

What other book might you compare Not Just Friends to and why?

Jay's other books are similar but only in humor. I suggest listening to EVERYTHING this author has written.

What does Matthew Lloyd Davies bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Davies is excellent with the accents and the emotions that can't be felt through many narrators. This narrator is a natural.

If you could take any character from Not Just Friends out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Haha. Max, of course.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dance with Destiny to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version. Besides the narration added something that was special to Tony and Dominic's characters.

What did you like best about this story?

The heartfelt responses of the parents. This was so important and pretty right on.

Which character – as performed by Christopher Rain – was your favorite?

Tony, for sure. He did the NY accent very well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, unfortunately, it is a heavy book. It takes time to process much of the twists so I listened over two nights.
