Delightful
Revisado: 05-28-21
This is a very enjoyable read, and it's impossible not to like the protagonist. The narrator has a masterful command of all the many accents involved in telling this story. Looking forward to more.

Historia
What happens to a woman who seeks to rediscover her sexuality at 70? Does she visit a sex store? Does she buy toys and porn? Does she push her boundaries to even greater extremes by joining a sex chat website? She does all of this and a whole lot more! Interweaving a repressed and intimidating upbringing with her lively and uncensored search for sexual liberation (complete with writing erotic stories), Rosenberg discovers it’s never too late to find freedom and begin life anew.

A candid life review
Revisado: 09-05-20
I would love to sit down for coffee with Lynn Brown Rosenberg and process this book. Although the details about her journey toward sexual liberation are fascinating, it was her upbringing and how that contributed to her drive later in life to discover her sexuality in a more authentic (to her) way that captured my interest the most. This was definitely a "no holds barred" book. I didn't originally understand that the short stories interspersed in Lynn's story pertained to someone else. That's often difficult to discern in an audiobook, but something to be aware of. The narration was excellent -- approachable and varied and handled a spectrum of maturely themed material very well.

Historia
Waiter to the Rich and Shameless is not just a peek into the secretive inner workings of a legendary five-star restaurant; it is not just a celebrity tell-all or a scathing corporate analysis. It is a top-tier waiter's personal coming-of-age story, an intimate look into the complicated challenges of serving in the country's most elite, Hollywood-centric dining room while fighting to maintain a sense of self and purpose.

This book serves up more than celeb stories
Revisado: 09-17-17
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. While I appreciated the celebrity stories and trying to figure out if the celebs I tend to think are kind really are, and the ones I imagine are jerks are treacherous to deal with, there were other sub-topics that intrigued me almost as much. // I love examples of organizational culture, especially when it is encouraging and customer-centric. I was sad when that deteriorated for this author but it was another example of why a focus on dollars over building relationships and loyalty usually backfires. // I could read a whole book about the author's and wife's Italian wedding/honeymoon! // Lastly, the author wrote in an approachable way tinged with just the right amount of sarcasm. A perfect "recipe"!
