I cannot say that I was ever uninterested while listening to this, but there are times when there is information that is repeated multiple times. This may be necessary for an official document but something that is intended for the average person it gets tedious. The most interesting section is early on and explores the historical context of impeachment proceedings and powers, there reach and limitations. But once it gets into the nuts and bolts of the case then it becomes very dry as most of these reports are. It took me several months to get through it, listening to large chunks at a time and picking it up later. It was sometimes due to boredom and other times the need to step back when the terrifying reality became overwhelming and the lack of prosecution against the man (and his conspirators) who were actively seeking to undermine the very principles of American democracy so that they could remain in power. The evidence presented in this document give very credible evidence (most from the subject of the impeachment himself) that a coup was in the works. There is a large section where Republican representatives offer a rebuttal to the charges and this was the toughest to get through and gave me no pause in my own personal views that Trump was innocent of all the charges against him. I cannot say that I would ever listen to this again in its entirety but there are sections I might revisit. As far as the performance of the narrator it varies since it is several who read sections. The dullest one is the Republican rebuttal section where the narrator comes across as a snotty elitist. The rest are fine. There isn't much one can do to make a report sound "exciting".

Who Goes There was written in 1938 and shouldn't be judged too harshly for its rather stiff characters and clumsy dialogue but enjoyed as an artefact from the Golden Age of science fiction. Anyone familiar with either of the two film adaptations knows the story. It does create a very tense and catastrophic atmosphere as the men become fully aware of the creature's shape-shifting abilities and can replicate anything, including animal and humans . The characters are flat, one-dimensional, and interchangeable. The narrator of the audiobook attempts to give them each a distinct personality but it cannot improve on what is written. The audiobook is by no means the worst I have heard and he tries a little too hard to imitate certain accents. Overall its good.

A fascinating and important document that will be placed alongside other documents that have defined the American culture. The information does get a little repetitive at times but overall tells a compelling and tragic narrative instigated by the former president Donald J. Trump. The male narrators are fine but the female narrator has these bizarre inflections in her voice that makes her sound like she is reading trashy gossip.

In it's brief run in encapsulates the crimes against democracy as perpetrated by Trump. The narration is clean and clear and not bogged down by terminology that the available citizen won't understand. It seems obvious that Trump is guilty of the crimes directed at him and should be held accountable for them, as well as the suffering he has inflicted.

I generally have mixed feelings about audiobooks and do not own many. They all hinge on the individual doing the reading. Some are exceptionally good (Brian Cox 's reading of Heart of Darkness) and those that seem to be read by a word-to-text programme. Dracula falls somewhere in the middle. The reader, Nick Sandys, tries to bring the text to life, but whenever he's call upon to do a female character it becomes very annoying and you just want to bypass the section. Overall it's fine. I don't regret buying it and it's fun to listen to in the dark.

Despite what the closing credits suggest this letter was most assuredly not the sole authorship of one Donald J. Trump and probably had others trying to articulate the thoughts of one of the most inarticulate individuals to hold the office of president. By the language and terms used throughout it does not sound like the screaming and whining wannabe dictator we have all come to know. Thankfully the former president's ego is not so great that he narrated this himself, but his whiney cadence comes through loud and clear. I found this for free so I thought that it would be an interesting historical document to own and include with my other books about the disastrous Trump administration. He just cannot accept that he lost an election or that he was a horrible failure as president. Here he spews out his vitriol at his enemies and those who have refused to grovel at his feet. It's nothing we haven't heard before and only proves what a clueless buffoon he is, living in an alternate reality where he is blameless in the crimes that he has committed while in office. This wannabe king wishes to be given the total immunity of a monarch and fault or blame may never taint the fantasy he has created. Sometimes you have to listen to the words of these lunatics to get a full portrait of them, and Trump loves attention, even if it is negative.

I had previously read the report before finding this recording for free. It took several months to get through, listening to a few sections and then setting it aside. This not due to the quality of the narrator, who was fine in what he had to work with. Being a report it was unavoidable that it was going to be some dry sections that anyone who is not very well versed in legal terminology is going to find very boring. But this comes at the last quarter of the book. But once you get into the narrative of the crimes it becomes quite compelling. As interesting as it was I cannot imagine that I will listen to it again. For anyone interested in the state of modern politics they should either read or hear this report in full.
