this book was recommended by a friend

my friend physically read the book and recommended it. I can't find much time to read, but love audible books when done right and this one blew it out of the park!!! The story is a good one, but the performance was amazing! so enjoyable!

Historia
In 2005, when Lawrence Summers, then president of Harvard, asked why so few women, even today, achieve tenured positions in the hard sciences, Eileen Pollack set out to find the answer. A successful fiction writer, Pollack had grown up in the 1960s and '70s dreaming of a career as a theoretical astrophysicist. Denied the chance to take advanced courses in science and math, she nonetheless made her way to Yale.

Not relatable at first, but stuck with it....

I was put off by the mooning over teachers and generalizations made at the beginning, but reminded myself of the time this occurred and I pushed on. Glad I did. It did get better. And though my experience as a Gen X female in engineering is different, there are still many similarities.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Great Listen

Loved it! Very happy I decided to listen to this one because I'm not sure I would have gotten through all the languages in print. To hear Trevor speak these languages definitely added to my enjoyment of the book.
