not great
Revisado: 07-23-22
There's not too much detail. I've been to Waterloo once and plan to go again. I didn't pay for this so it's hard to complain. I enjoyed the narrator's voice.

When an unexpected medical crisis sends Naomi Wolf on a deeply personal journey to tease out the intersections between sexuality and creativity, she discovers, much to her own astonishment, an increasing body of scientific evidence that suggests that the vagina is not merely flesh, but an intrinsic component of the female brain - and thus has a fundamental connection to female consciousness itself.

it's a good high level overview that covers enough that I won't return it but it wasn't the most detailed book on Napoleon or the Napoleonic wars. it's not a very long book for someone who shaped Europe and perhaps the globe. I can't think of anyone who has changed history so much. Yes others may have come close and we're in position to make larger changes.

Historia
On the 18th June, 1815, the armies of France, Britain, and Prussia descended upon a quiet valley south of Brussels. In the previous three days the French army had beaten the British at Quatre Bras and the Prussians at Ligny. The Allies were in retreat. The blood-soaked battle of Waterloo would become a landmark in European history, to be examined over and again, not least because until the evening of the 18th, the French army was close to prevailing on the battlefield.

Probably the best book on waterloo on audible
Revisado: 09-10-18
I've played napoleon total war and listed to other stories as well as watched Sean bean on Waterloo and sharpe's Waterloo. I've watched Waterloo uncovered (archeology videos on YouTube) so I wasn't expecting to learn anything new but I heard new stories and more details about the days proceeding the battle and after the battle that expanded my understanding of those days. I can't wait to see the battlefield myself.

From the beet fields of North Dakota to the wilderness campgrounds of California to an Amazon warehouse in Texas, people who once might have kicked back to enjoy their sunset years are hard at work. Underwater on mortgages or finding that Social Security comes up short, they're hitting the road in astonishing numbers, forming a new community of nomads: RV and van-dwelling migrant laborers, or "workampers".

I have been interested in Tiny Houses and RV's for years. I've watched Bob Wells Youtube Channel Cheap RV living along with a number of other Nomad Channels. I've also listened to a number of Audible books like Humans Need not apply, The Great Acceleration, Currency wars and Rise of the robots giving me a less than optimistic view of the future. I don't exactly want to be a Nomad but I don't want a sticks and bricks so the happy middle ground would be a Tiny House Village or RV park.

On YouTube you may want to look up learn organic gardening. I would have liked a few more recipes or some more help overcoming bad habits.

Lots of opinion but not much advice
Revisado: 05-18-17
After reading the reviews and the description I decided to give this book a shot but I'm rather disappointed. If you're an entrepreneur or manager looking to navigate the next few years while people still have jobs but the author seems to think mass unemployment won't happen because under educated people that are not good at reasoning or critical thinking or math will move up to "higher value" tasks. The author fails to understand all of the trends involved (Exponential growth, changes and disruption to a number of industries and the economic climate as well as peoples ability to learn or adapt) that will lead to a perfect storm.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.
