If you've listened to the first two books in the series, you will not be disappointed. So good.I started listening and did not want to stop. A great YA fantasy for the young and old. Strong heroes and heroines. Just enough romance for those who like a little romance. Non stop action. Fun listen. Looking forward to the next and last book in series.

I hesitated on spending my credit . A girl disguised as a boy and the western theme is not a story I would normally want to read. But I loved Rae Carson Fire and Thorns series so I had to give this a try. Wow, Rae Carson does it again! Well written, with another strong and likeable heroine. The detail and vivid description made the story so real. Who knew wagons traveling to California could be so interesting. Once I started listening, I could not stop. Engaging story and one of the best narration I''ve heard. Great start to a series, book #2 is going to be even better.

Any additional comments?

What I dislike about this book are how the main characters have become a shell of who they were in the first 3 books, strangers to one another now. And yet enemies from the past suddenly become best friends over night. I don't get it. I prefer Calaena to Aelin. Where Calaena had warmth, Aelin is pure arrogance. And the relationship between Aelin and Rowan, I also don't get. Besides the fact that Rowan is 300+ years old, he acted much more older and mature than Aelin to be more like an older brother. The only saving grace in this book was Manon, her growth and strength in this books reminded me of the qualiities that I liked in Celaena. This book did not leave me anxiously anticipating the next book or thinking about the story and characters for days like I did in the previous books. Sad.

If you could sum up A Court of Thorns and Roses in three words, what would they be?

I love Sarah J Maas Throne of Glass series and was disappointed with the beginning of this book. But the story got better and better, action picked up. I'm reminded a bit of The Hunger Games, a strong heroine and expert archer, facing a life and death trial to save her love. Romantic. A good fairy tale fantasy with memorable characters.

What did you love best about Crimson Bound?

Wow, the story had many layers, a story within a story. Inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, it had a dark element to it but also written with wit and humor. I love the dialogues between Rachelle/ Erec and Rachelle/ Armand. .The story and characters really pulled me in. Worth using my 1 credit.

What does Elizabeth Knowelden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Elizabeth did a superb job narrating the book, she is now one of my favorite narrators. I love her english accent. The tone and accent she gave to each character was perfect. She really brought the book to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I could listen to this book in one sitting. It was non stop action and intrigue. The writing was beautiful and original.

Any additional comments?

This is a book that older teen and adult will enjoy. It had all the elements in a book I like in fantasy book: well written, good storyline and plot, strong heroine (Rachelle is deadly with a sword), memorable characters and a little romance. This is definitely one of the best written YA fantasy books I've read/listened to so far. Rachelle reminds me of Katsa in Graceling.

This is one of those audible books I wanted to listen to in one sitting. Well written with interesting stories. I would say it really helped me to question and think more deeply before making any decisions now. It's so easy to think we know the answers but often we are so wrong in our assumptions. This books helps us to take a step back, ask questions and see things from a broader perspective before going forward. A book worth listening to.

Would you consider the audio edition of Serve to Be Great to be better than the print version?

This audio exceeded my expectations. I pretty much listened to this in one sitting. Was not planning on that. Lots of great stories about leaders and companies whose success stems from not only serving the needs of their customers but also their employees. Some of the companies mentioned are Google,Southwest airline, Next Jump,Life is Good,Zappos and Ritz Carlton. Ritz Carlton allows their employees to spent up to $2000 per customer! Pretty amazing what these companies will do for their customers and employees, not because they have to but they want to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Matt Tenney was a US Marine, spent 5 1/2 years in military prison trying to defraud the US government of $2.7 million. During his confinement, he learned mindfulness practice and almost became a monk after leaving prison. He made a really bad decision and paid for it. And ultimately found his success by serving others.

Have you listened to any of Rex Anderson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Rex has a pleasant voice and I would listen to him again. A couple of words he pronounced sounded odd but other than that he did a great job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Inspiring story of success that could be achieved through serving others. A book that everyone should read. It's about thinking less of yourself, your needs and more about how you can help others, creating a win/win situation for everyone involved.

Any additional comments?

I'm also getting the print version to share with others. If you enjoyed books by Malcolm Gladwell and Daniel Pink, you will like this book. My other 2 favorite audiobooks that are 5 stars and I listened to in the last 3 months are 10% Happier by Dan Harris and Promise of a Pencil by Adam Braun.

Where does The Promise of a Pencil rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorite audiobook so far. Very inspiring , well told and I could not stop listening to Adam's story. Combines 3 subjects I love: children, charity and travel. I am also getting a book version to give to my 15 year old niece to read. A book that all young people should read. Follow your dreams, believe in yourself and do good in the world. Walking away from the promise of a bright future and money to the uncertainty of the future. Believing in yourself and following your dreams of helping others. Powerful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I had never heard of Adam Braun or his organization, Pencils of Promise before this audio. But I am definitely a fan of Adam and POP. I even went online to donate money for POP. And it is great that all proceeds from the book sales will go towards the charity!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So many but Adam dedicating his first school opening to his grandmother(a holocaust survivor) and that she was his inspiration.

Any additional comments?

Kirby did a great job with the narration. The tone and voice was perfect! One of the best I've heard . After listening to this, you will ask yourself the following: Are you living your life with purpose, passion and meaning? And if not what's stopping you ? 30 chapters, each a mantra, a story to provide a road map, inspired to help start and turn anyone's dreams into reality.
