Historia
England, 1920. Eleanor Swift has spent the last few years travelling the world: taking tea in China, tasting alligators in Peru, escaping bandits in Persia and she has just arrived in England after a chaotic 45-day flight from South Africa. Chipstone is about the sleepiest town you could have the misfortune to meet. But then, from the edge of a quarry, through the driving rain, Eleanor is shocked to see a man shot and killed in the distance. Before she can climb down to the spot, the villain is gone and the body has vanished.

Better than the first
Revisado: 03-27-24
The stories are better, but I’m still confused. Half the time Penny is bold and resourceful and then other times she acts like a child. Hope she grows up soon.

Kept my interest
Revisado: 03-24-24
I thought the main character was going to be smart and strong but wavered between smart and stupid/weak at times.

I’m undecided.
Revisado: 11-18-23
The main character, Charlie seemed so whiny and immature for most of the book. I guess she was supposed to come across as a strong woman, but I thought she was whiny and recalcitrant. The situation of he likes me, he’s mad, I like him, I hate him, was a little bit too repetitive. I kept listening, thinking that I was going to stop, but I did finish it. It’s worth a try. I have enjoyed many of CJ Archer books, but this was not a great one.

Needs better narration
Revisado: 12-24-22
Good story but the narration was very poor. Unfortunately the different characters sounded almost the same with some cross over at times. Unprofessional.
