Meh. Need to read another book first.

This had a good portion of the book with characters from another book. Since I was listening on Audible, it was confusing until I got the gist. It distracted from the story. Better to write an update on that couple in a novella and post it on the author’s website for fans. More concentration on the main characters would have been better. They never really got to star.

I think this is one of Mary sara‘s best reads. She does a good job of all the characters. Was very complex on the relationship and emotional baggage. Good book!

Funny repartee

I enjoyed this book because they were really funny as they talked with one another. Probably more current day talk versus what was happening in the 19th century, however, it made me giggle.

Aspergers Syndrome love match

Very unique story. It’s hard to get the right tone for thoughts of someone who is autistic. The story is solid, however didn’t resonate with me. However I respect the author for attempting a story like this.

Biblical references for the role of husband

I think this was highly accurate. However, it was not my cup of tea. That’s an inside joke for the book. I am always frustrated with those who don’t talk it out. And let assumptions go on for 23 chapters. Also, I thought Trent could’ve been fleshed out a little bit better.

It’s an OK book. I didn’t absolutely hate it. I made myself listen to it primarily because the author went to Georgia Tech.

As to the performance, Abigail was a soft whisper little girl voice. At some point, it didn’t fit. She was a quiet person, so I understand why it was used. She transitioned to being more comfortable with saying what was needed at the end.

Well dressed, elegant rogue

The writing is fun and witty. The inner thoughts of the protagonist sometimes double back so you get a funny quip. She has been scarred, literally by someone in her past. He is now tracking that person down. Hi jinx ensues.

Well written funny reparte. Love this narrator. Starts slow to build up back story, but the silly soliloquies to follow are worth it.
