Nedra does it again!

Yet another beautifully insightful work by Nedra and her wonderful “nuggets.” If you’ve been following her on social media for a while you get many of her thought provoking posts and emails all in one place for you to come back to over and over again. I encourage you to get a physical copy so you can make notes on a second or third listen. This combined with her other two books are really life changing and after having read the other two when they came out, this book feels like the natural next step for folks who have spent time working on holding boundaries and releasing drama from their lives. It’s always refreshing to hear all of this in her voice so I was pleased to hear her narrate again. I’ll be returning to this book often when I feel out of balance and recommending it to everyone I love who also is working on people pleasing, making boundaries, managing familial relationships, and finding themself as an adult. Thank you again Nedra, you’re changing the world with everything you share.

I wasn’t expecting a lot since it’s based on beauty and the beast but actually it was quite fun. It’s a good twist on the story and a not so helpless female lead. The naughty bits made me blush and that’s hard to do for me. It was a fun read!

This was well written in the sense that the story and ideas came across well and we can visualize them easily. Also the performance was really engaging and entertaining. But the actual story was just lacking somehow. This is more of a supernatural/ghost kind of book which I’m ok with but it just felt unsatisfying. The eroticism was fine overall, I didn’t totally enjoy the impact play, but that may just be me. I think it was how sex work was presented and kinda pushed on Mona as her only real option. And then that it was all “fake” and some kind of ghost magic. And then the grandson just decided to marry/kidnap her with no real time together.

I felt the pieces didn’t quite fit for me. I’ve read other books from this author so I will say that she is an amazing writer. Just something about this story wasn’t it for me.

Really impressive and mesmerizing.

I “opened” this book expecting the usual historical drama and ended up finding something much more. The characters are well developed and their emotions stir your heart. The first few lines steeped with venom and later you grow to love and sympathize with those feelings. I’m not often impressed from beginning to end, but here I really was. I look forward to reading more from this author and seeing their take on history. I really really enjoyed this. The audio narration was also really well done. Highly recommended!
