Historia
The battle of Hammon's Bog is over. The town is free, the undead destroyed, the Witches slain, and the surviving villagers are picking up the remains of their lives. Despite his scars and constant nightmares, Brin is doing his best to move on from the battle against the undead. He's looking to the future, but his past might not be done with him yet. Soon Brin will learn that not every Witch who tormented him is gone for good, and he won't be able to depend on Hogg and Lumina to protect him in places they cannot reach.

Good story, poor voices
Revisado: 04-18-25
I haven’t finished the book yet but I already I know I like it because I read the whole thing on Patreon. I bought the audio book so I could relisten and hear the tone used for better context. I don’t mind most of the main characters voices, I was iffy at first but they’ve grown on me, but I am so disappointed in the voice for Sion. He sounds like a kooky old country hillbilly, not the young heir of a rich, well established mercantile group. It’s so jarring and really grates cuz I actually really like Sions character. Otherwise the story is great. Such a shame there are so many whiny-voiced characters, like Aberfa(and as I’m starting to suspect) every other witch.

Historia
Brin is scarred, but no longer alone. After giving up his evil Rare Class in exchange for the simple and common Glasser, he’s finally been accepted by the people of Hammon’s Bog. But acceptance doesn't guarantee safety. Mirrors and glass spearheads offer little protection against threats both outside and within. An army of undead is lurking in the surrounding forest, cutting them off from the rest of the world. There’s no rescue in sight, and worse, no one knows why the army is there or when it will attack.

Phenomenal story, even better than the first book
Revisado: 10-07-24
This may have just become my favorite story in the litrpg genre. 18hr stories run the risk of dragging on too long but I was hooked every second. There are so many things about this I loved, especially the unexpected twists. I hate that it had to end. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the third book

Mark’s new life begins in the worst possible place—a burned-out village haunted by undead. Each morning these ravenous creatures disappear, only to return at night, driven by a relentless hunger. He'll need to stay low and think quick, because trapped and alone in the body of a child, he can’t level up in this new world. At least not yet. Soon Mark will learn that even among the living, safety isn’t guaranteed. When the small town that he ends up in turns out to be at the center of a conspiracy that threatens the world, he'll need to uncover the truth before it's too late.

A great find
Revisado: 10-03-24
I had a feeling I’d like this one but I didn’t anticipate likening this as much as I do. I’ll definitely be re-listening soon, which isn’t something I do for just any story. I literally couldn’t stop listening, I was so sad when it ended cuz when I started this story it was the only book in the series. I had no idea when the next book was coming, so imagine my delight to find the 2nd book had been released without my knowing just the day prior. Suffice to say, I will be jumping into the next book promptly.

Historia
Halted in advancing his legacy, Leland wants nothing more than to sit down and figure things out. Unfortunately for him, fate had other plans. Together with his two best friends, the journey continues and many more questions are raised. Just who is the Lord of Curses and why do some cower at her title of The Calamity? Why is the Huntress still following them? Why do animals like Jude so much? Is it the harmonica playing? And of course, the age-old question of who would win, the bear or the poacher?

Not what I hoped for(minor spoilers)
Revisado: 09-29-24
I had high hopes for this story, but to be frank, it was a painful listen. Basically the entire middle half of the book had me constantly cringing and rolling my eyes at just how cheesy it was. One character in particular really irked me: Jello. She’s constantly crying, especially near the end of her arc. I say arc, but she was a major character for like 6+hours of the book. The author also has a terrible habit of summarizing conversations very briefly. Like “they bonded over their lack of paternal figures” or something along those lines. The author also overuses “The boys” as a way to refer to the group as one entity all doing the exact same action. Like are they three distinct people or are they conjoined in some strange amalgamation? There was a severe lack of detail in places all throughout the story really. It’s a shame. I was looking forward to this series, but I just can’t take it seriously. I mean really, why are sentient, intelligent, super powerful(or potential to be powerful) bear monsters named Jello and Flow? They’re named like they are pets. I think they should have had more fantasy themed names. Something like Astara or Ayasha or Nymeria. Something mystical. Not a food that I’m not even sure exists in this hypothetical world.
That’s my TED talk. I know this author hasn’t written much, so maybe my criticism is quite harsh, but there’s plenty of room to improve.

Trying to escape the gross anime in this genre? Well don’t do it here
Revisado: 09-21-24
Audible would let me return this title, unfortunately. Too bad, because frankly, I don’t even want it in my library, let alone will I be listening any further. My experience with LitRPGs have been pleasantly non-pervy up until this point, alas all good things must come to an end. If I wanted to see barely of age girls being sexualized I wouldn’t be consuming this genre through audiobooks. Anime and manga have that stuff in spades. I hope to never accidentally buy something like this again. RIP my credit, you could have gone towards one of the many Andrew Rowe books I’ve bought.

Historia
On his nineteenth birthday, Leland Silver was offered a portion of a Lord's power. The only issue… it was from a Lord no one had ever heard of—the Lord of Curses. Teamed with his two best friends—a Legacy of the Berserker and a Legacy of the Chameleon—Leland must learn quickly if he wishes to get anywhere in this newly opened world. Together, the trio will lead a relatively normal young adult life: protecting caravans, killing mana-lions, learning to play the harmonica, and forging contracts with gods.

A fun listen
Revisado: 09-21-24
I liked the story, and I have already gotten the sequel. The characters are likable and I’ve liked the stuff they’ve gotten up to so far. The writing is kind of amature, but not so much so I was unable to continue. It got cheesy at times, kind of like when kids shows have those really cliche bits about friendship and stuff. Still, an enjoyable experience. I’ll definitely keep up with this series as they come. Love me a no-romance LitRPG.

He's headed to the top floor, on a mission to meet the goddess.

Engaging to my picky, highly specific taste: Fantastic!
Revisado: 09-08-24
Amazing story, amazing performance(as expected from Nick Podehl), would highly recommend. No gross half dressed girls that are common in this genre(what a blessing) and the story was just genuinely interesting. The thing with Jin at the end dealt me psychic damage tho, lemme tell you. I’m excited to start the next story.
