Heartfelt message

Valerie leads us through her journey of self-healing. Trials and tribulations are wound through her words. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. Valerie has such a wonderful voice that is easy to listen to.
The message if hope and, more importantly, love, were repeated over and over. To know yourself fully and be content in your own skin is such a good message in today’s world. Thank you, Valerie, to have the courage to share with us.

Short romance novel

This was a quick novel, just about 2 1/2 hours. You got to know the characters easily in that amount of time. This is book 2 in a series and I look forward to the next few books!
The narrator did an excellent job as well!

Romance and mystery

This book had a good mix of romance and mystery, the plot twisting and turning right up to the very end. The narrator did an excellent job portraying the various characters throughout the book.
Set in the prestigious “Hamptons” you could feel yourself there as the story unfolded.
Wouldw definitely recommend this book to others.

Heartfelt story

I had no idea that Sally’s life was full of inner turmoil and painful childhood issues. It’s because of her tenacity and her ability to draw on these experiences that she can portray a wide variety of characters.

Delightfully romantic

The narrator did a wonderful job with the various characters and accents.
I’d say this was a mystery romance as well. You think you know where things are headed but then it takes a turn. However the ending will surprise and delight you.
Things get a little steamy but only briefly!

Simply delightful!

I’ve always loved Carol Burnett. Her sense of humor is very contagious.
In this book, the listener gets carried away into her life and the lives of those she was surrounded by. Whether serious or funny, the way she tells the stories draws you in and keeps you there. She’s real, she’s open and she’s honest. It’s no wonder she’s so beloved by the world!

Book started in the middle!

When I first started listening. I was confused. The narrator said “Chapter 14”. I looked at my display snd it said chapter 1. I thought maybe the narrator just read it wrong. The next chauwas 15...16, etc. The story sounded okay so I kept listening. Then at the end of one chapter, music started playing so I thought it was the end of the book because that’s what I’m accustomed to - but it wasn’t. The music played over top of several parts of several chapters which was annoying. Then the narrator said, “epilogue “. Okay, it’s the end! Nope, immediately after the epilogue it launched into Chapter 1!!!
So I haven’t heard the whole story. I don’t want to listen to the beginning now that I’ve heard the whole ending. Feel somewhat cheated.
What I heard was good, the narrator was good- but this audiobook was flawed!!!
Probably would gave given higher rating if I had been able to start at the beginning.

Delightful story, great narration

This was a wonderful story about a young girl growing up in an apartment above the library where her father works.
The author and narrator does a fabulous job of telling the story. She is so animated and moves about the story so easily. There are some great sound effects as well.
Delightful and fun story. Highly recommended.

Tender story

I enjoyed this first book in the series and look forward to the next book.
I enjoy stories about Amish life as it is a simple yet complex religion. The story revolves around a widow in the Amish community and a wodower in the “Englisch” community who find great similarities in their lives which draws tbem to one another.
The implications of such a relationship rocks the Amish community in ways we cannot comprehend. The choice to leave means excommunication.
The narrator does a great job telling the story and bringing the characters alive.
Well done and as I said, I cannot wait to start the next book in the series.

Spellbinding

Author and narrator Leah Remini spoke authentically about her life experiences. She draws you into her life from an early age and takes you through her entire life and why she is the person she is.
I’ve watched her TV series on Scientology and have been intrigued about how that “church” operates. She has lived that life and I have no reason to doubt what she says to be truth.
Leah narrates the way she speaks in real life and made the story come to life.
Authentic...Real.... Courageous.... only begin to describe Leah.
