Applying theory to real-world practice!
Revisado: 11-28-24
I’ve waited years for this book, and it was worth the wait. I highly recommend that most people start with his previous two books for a deeper understanding of the theoretical principles, but this third book is a great bridge from understanding movement to *coaching*. And for those who already follow Rob’s podcast, this book is like having all your favorite topics bundled in one coherent package, and absolutely current.
I recommend this for those who coach AND of course for those who also develop other coaches. There aren’t a ton of non-linear pedagogy books, but still… I’ve literally read them all and this is now my favorite. And Ron’s voice is already familiar to us, and I’m grateful he quickly got this new book recorded. My husband (also a coach) and I have been listening to it in place of our usual podcast hour (morning coffee on the porch with podcasts).

Loved every second
Revisado: 09-03-22
I just finished and my only complaints are:
1. It ended
2. There’s not a second (and third, fourth… forever) season.

The main narrator was amazing, and I found her way of talking-while-eating endearing :)
At first I wondered if the novelty of having the protagonist recording everything to her assistant would wear off, but for me it was the opposite.
Please Benjamin, write another one. Write a whole novel about her. No, write a *series* with this detective!
(Also, I thought the sound design was perfect. Just enough to feel as though you were there, but not overwhelming the way some of the scripted audio shows are.).

Historia
After a tumultuous period in American politics, a new administration has just been sworn in, and to everyone’s surprise the president chooses a political enemy for the vital position of secretary of state. There is no love lost between the president of the United States and Ellen Adams, his new secretary of state. But it’s a canny move on the part of the president. With this appointment, he silences one of his harshest critics, since taking the job means Adams must step down as head of her multinational media conglomerate

Loved this book!!

My first Audible review… I was skeptical and sad that instead of another Three Pines book, we got a “sensational” political book. And at first, I wasn’t thrilled by the narration.
But within 30 minutes, I was hooked so deep, and loving every tiny thing about the story and performance.
And without spoilers, there was something in it for us die-hard Gamache fans.

This book was a twisty, exciting thriller, and frighteningly on point.
It moved at a faster pace overall than most of the Three Pines books, but still with the richness I’ve come to expect from this author.
I always come away from her books having learned a little on a topic I knew nothing about.
I’m gonna guess this book would be an automatic hard NO for those who don’t like Penney’s co-author, or who adore our *former* President. Well, too bad for them missing out on an exciting thriller. Can’t wait for the Hollywood version!)
