Historia
The Battle of the Atlantic is at its peak. Packs of German U-boats are hunting and sinking U.S. supply ships. Ships are burning at their moorings in U.S. ports, and a series of explosions has afflicted trains and train stations around the country - is it all accidental or is it sabotage? As World War II heats up, "Wild Bill" Donovan's agents - answerable only to Donovan and the president - suddenly find themselves battling on two fronts at once.

Don't buy the "abridged" edition.
Revisado: 06-11-18
I mistakenly clicked on the "abridged" edition offered. BAD idea. Stick with this one. The abridged edition story is distracted by totally unrelated background music. ??? The music does not fit the mood of the narrative and is frankly stupid. I have many of W.E.B. Griffin's series in my library (audio and hardback). The abridgement with music is a disservice.

Historia
In Washington: A Life celebrated biographer Ron Chernow provides a richly nuanced portrait of the father of our nation. This crisply paced narrative carries the reader through his troubled boyhood, his precocious feats in the French and Indian War, his creation of Mount Vernon, his heroic exploits with the Continental Army, his presiding over the Constitutional Convention, and his magnificent performance as America's first president.

Author obviously has a problem with John Adams
Revisado: 11-14-17
Very insightful and interesting.
The author has an obvious problem and attitude against John and Abigail Adams. Two Founders without which our Nation would have a very great difference.
Adams was an irascible and blunt, non politically correct person, Abigail sometimes kept him in check. John Adams held the line on a peace treaty with France that was politically unpopular, but kept us out of a catastrophic war, and lost him a second term as second POTUS. This Author glosses over Washington's "enjoyment" of the ladies and Jefferson and Franklin's obvious peccadilloes, while hammering Adams. He lost some credibility with me because of this.

USS Hillary Clinton?
Revisado: 09-26-17
O.K. Time travel and Multi-universe. Overall an interesting concept and good execution.
Two little, picky things: #1; Sailors and Marines do not salute indoors or within the confines of a ship, or when they are "uncovered" (not wearing a hat). Way too many "salutes" to Adm. Spruance as he made his way thru the passageways (nort corridors) of the USS Hillary Clinton (HA!). O.K. this is an alternate multi-verse, maybe she did win there...

Historia
One evening in 1951, an itinerant storyteller arrives unannounced at a house in the Irish countryside. In exchange for a bed and a warm meal, he invites his hosts and their neighbors to join him by the wintry fireside and begins to tell formative stories of Ireland's history. Ronan, a nine-year-old boy, grows so entranced by the storytelling that, when the old man leaves abruptly under mysterious circumstances, the boy devotes himself to finding him again.

A tapestry
Revisado: 04-14-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have recommended this book to my son, a musician, an artist, a troubadour. The wonder and art of oral performance is beautifully and adroitly shown in this story.
What other book might you compare Ireland to and why?
The books of Tolkien, Lewis and L'Engle. Imagination and imagery.
Which character – as performed by Frank Delaney – was your favorite?
The old man
Who was the most memorable character of Ireland and why?
The architect.
Any additional comments?
Anyone wishing to imbibe the essence of Ireland and the Irish will go away from this book with an appetite both satisfied and desirous of more.

Historia
In AD 1119, a group of nine crusaders became known as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon - a militant monastic order charged with protecting pilgrims and caravans traveling on the roads to and from the Holy Land. In time, the Knights Templar would grow in power and, ultimately, be laid low. But a small offshoot of the Templars endure and have returned to the order's original mission: to defend the roads of the world and guard those who travel on them.

This is either just silly or stupid
Revisado: 09-30-16
What would have made The Brotherhood of the Wheel better?
The author may have listened to trucker cb talk, but has not the slightest idea of the industry.
Story line is ???? stupid. 40 years in the industry, this author has not the slightest idea of the capabilities of the trucks/highways/anything to do with trucking.... don't waste your time.
Has The Brotherhood of the Wheel turned you off from other books in this genre?
Don't know
Did Bronson Pinchot do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
DON'T KNOW
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Brotherhood of the Wheel?
The whole book.
Any additional comments?
If you are going to write about something, do some real reasearch... That"s what i love about Tom Clancy... he knows what he's writing about.

Historia
Dien Bien Phu. Saigon. Hanoi. In 1954, they were only exotic names from a French campaign halfway around the world. But now American fighting men - proven on the bloody beaches of Normandy and in the minefields of Korea - are summoned to help beat back the guerilla forces of Ho Chi Minh. To some, the “secret” war in Indochina was the depth of folly. To others, like the majors, it pointed to the heights of glory.

Get pronunciation and jargon accurate.
Revisado: 07-14-16
I read the entire brotherhood of war series in hardback. I really enjoy W.E.B. Griffin. One point; please have your narrator learn the intricacies of military jargon.
The M-1 Garand is pronounced Grrr-rand, as in grandstand, not soft G as in Germany.
Also; 8p.m. in military time is spoken as Twenty-hundred hours, not Two thousand.

Should be a "graphic novel".
Revisado: 04-24-16
The first few stories were very 1940's kids stuff. "Jet Boy"?
The only story I found interesting and engaging was Zelazny's.
Then the stories devolved into porn.
I did not finish this anthology and will not follow any more of the series.
Looked good on the outside, didn't live up to the hype.

When Sam Harris wrote his book Letter to a Christian Nation, Dr. Ravi Zacharias felt called to answer. The End of Reason is a clear and powerful response to the “utter bankruptcy” of Harris’s New Atheism as it explains the true nature of God, the foundation for evil in the world, and the basis of true morality.
