Historia
Highly sensitive people - or empaths - see life through the eyes of compassion and caring. They were born that way. As a result, they carry a tremendous amount of inner light. But they’re also the favored prey of “vampires” who feed off empaths’ energy and disrupt their lives on every level - physical, emotional, and financial.

Energy Vampires is a great title
Revisado: 03-02-25
To acknowledge that some people in your life are energy vampires is so helpful for your self care.
Understanding who and why is helpful to think about for you personally.
I am not about past lives but I do believe some people feel energies that are intense and helpful. The author feels past lives and shares this in a logical way.
I loved the active forgiving yourself chapter near the end. I pledge allegiance to myself - made me cry
I am better to myself because of this book. Thank you 🙏 to the author - definitely worth reading and be kind to yourself as you have been though a lot

Historia
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Historia
Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars: same year at Yale, same debut year in publishing. But Athena’s a cross-genre literary darling, and June didn’t even get a paperback release. Nobody wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. So when June witnesses Athena’s death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena’s just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers to the British and French war efforts during World War I.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Worth Reading
Revisado: 12-23-23
This was a helpful read because the author offers his opinion straight up. A lot of self help books give guidelines or suggestions. This book challenges you to think for yourself. What do you care about? Is that worth your time because our time here is limited! I liked that part too. The acknowledgement of our dying. I loved the section on cheaters. His advice was so helpful with the simplicity of 1 and 2 - Go F***ing read this book… or listen to it while you drive but you will want a hard copy to mark your ah ha moments… thank you 🙏 Mark … his wisdom continues on instagram

Moon of the Crusted Snow is Great
Revisado: 01-27-23
I enjoyed this suspenseful story as it unfolded. Is it a simple power outage or a life altering power black out? I loved the story and having the insight of northern Ontario Reservation life. I really enjoyed the elders take on this life changing situation. The narrator was great too with all the languages. Really a Great Story.

Aline is a great survivor story
Revisado: 12-12-22
I really enjoyed this book and the way it was written.
You really can imagine the story well. I loved the dog as I can relate to their comfort when alone.
The aspect of hope and being rescued is explored and I found that interesting.
Why I did not give it 5 stars is I was not convinced as to why she was absolutely alone for so long. I don’t want to spoil it for you. The reason and ending can lead to GREAT book discussions so it is worth it to read it!
At the end after the story, the author talks about why she wrote it in prose and I found this really interesting as well. enjoy alone…

Historical Fiction 1793
Revisado: 11-08-22
This novel is well written and gives us a glimpse into a past pandemic in the amazing city of Philadelphia in 1793. I loved the quotes at the start of each chapter and the appendix afterward clarifying elements of the novel that were incorporated. The fictional protagonist, Matty, struggles through this strange fever as it takes hold of the city. I honestly loved reading this novel and after living through covid, I can appreciate the yellow fever’s death march through the streets of Philadelphia. No one knew how you caught the fever back then…great story and interesting characters.

Historia
Prior to stepping onto the battlefield with a Narcissist, it is imperative to know their playbook both forwards and backwards. The behavior of individuals with Narcissistic Personality Disorder generally defies logic but sadly, their tactics in the Family Court System often fool Judges, Commissioners, Attorneys, Minor's Counsel, Social Workers, Therapists, and even trained Evaluators.

Helpful
Revisado: 08-25-21
This is a great book with constructive points. Going through a divorce myself from a narcissist (undiagnosed) I find myself suffering from waves of dark depression. Will it ever be over? Having children with him makes the no contact advice not possible. Anyway, my issues are that this audio book is slightly repetitive and read robotically -
Great advice and I am glad I listened to the whole book as the stories at the end left me feeling a happy life may happen and I liked that God was mentioned as I pray everyday. ❤️🙏
