This audible is everything I’m looking for in an audio book: it’s fun, funny, and full of witty sometimes actually profound insights about life and how to life better. Great job and THANK YOU Madison Malloy.
PS the book is read by (actually performed by) the author herself, and she does a great job. Her voice is amazing!

A classic book *and* a classic audiobook

This is my favorite book of all time. It has been more than a decade since I read it, and listening to this audio version was fantastic!
Frank McCourt was my creative writing teacher in high school, and listening to him read his book was like listening to him back in the classroom again.
He and his brother used to tell all of the stories in their off-Broadway show, and it was these many years of polishing and honing the stories that enabled him to write them so powerfully in the book, and then to be able to perform them so beautifully in this audible reading.
The amazing thing is that despite the story being so "depressing" it never feels heavy or sad or gets you depressed. The storytelling and language is so beautiful.
