Historia
America is used to larger-than-life politicians, from Telfon Don to AOC and from Dark Brandon to MTG. The political arena has been injected with an unmistakable edge of celebrity flair and tabloid intrigue. Yet in 2022, a new player on the national scene outshone them all. George Anthony Devolder Santos, and his revolving door of pseudonyms, shed glaring new light on how far we’d let our politics slide as his claimed resume was shred to bits in the wake of a longshot run to office from New York’s 3rd Congressional District.

George Santos Is Two Middle Fingers Pointed At The Establishment
Revisado: 12-30-23
This book deserves 5 stars for storytelling and 1 star for objectivity. It's positively dripping with liberal bias - imagine describing George Floyd as a "father" and "sometimes security guard", as opposed to a career criminal who held his pregnant girlfriend hostage with a gun pointed to her belly. Or imagine describing the oldest newspaper in America (The New York Post) as a "conservative tabloid" -- *eye roll* -- but then go on to quote The New York Times and The Daily freaking Beast uncritically. (What a hack!)
The book would be just another forgettable crybaby liberal hit piece if my boy George Santos wasn't such a G.

Historia
When Bernie Sanders, an obscure Vermont senator, launched his quixotic 2016 presidential campaign, few could have seen just how radically the Democratic Party would transform in just a few short years—or that such a transformation could be led by a Bronx bartender volunteering for Bernie in her spare time. The world as it was when that campaign began is almost unrecognizable today, and the Squad has both shaped and been shaped by the seismic social, cultural, and political changes underway.

The Squad Is A Media Creation
Revisado: 12-22-23
This incredible telling of the rise of this mirage political force on the left was a banger from start to finish!! Ryan Grim is spectacularly talented and funny (and as a Trump supporters I literally could not possibly be more biased against the concept of this book but for Ryan's masterful storytelling abilities.) Merry Christmas everyone.

Historia
Over the past two generations, U.S. leaders deregulated big business on the faith that it would yield a better economy and a freer society. But the opposite happened. Americans lost stable, well-paying jobs, Wall Street dominated industry to the detriment of the middle class and local communities, and corporations began to subject us to total surveillance, even dictating what we are, and aren’t, allowed to think. The corporate titans and mega-donors who aligned themselves with this vision knew exactly what they were getting: perfect conditions for what Sohrab Ahmari calls “private tyranny”.

Historia
In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Meh
Revisado: 05-24-22
With all due respect to Douglas, this book comes across as a bitter, hectoring diatribe. Not as informative or funny as "The Madness of Crowds." I recommend listening at 1.5x speed. Maybe it's just an American bias, but you don't need to marinate over your words and pauses to illustrate your point. Furthermore, I found myself annoyed, often asking, "What exactly is your point Douglas?" Disappointing.

Historia
It was a devastating triple punch. Capping their four-year campaign to destroy the Trump presidency, the media portrayed a Democratic victory as necessary and inevitable. Big Tech, wielding unprecedented powers, vaporized dissent and erased damning reports about the Biden family’s corruption. Rigged is the definitive account of the 2020 election. Based on Mollie Hemingway’s exclusive interviews with campaign officials, reporters, Supreme Court justices, and President Trump himself, it exposes the fraud and cynicism behind the Democrats’ historic power grab.

Good Story, Tragic Narrator!
Revisado: 11-01-21
This book ties together all the information I already pieced together through casual Twitter sleuthing, and is therefore obviously superior information, but that's exactly how I surmised the Democrats stole the 2020 election.
That said, why choose the oldest sounding lady on the planet to narrate this story? Her grating voice seemed chosen almost to discourage the listener from consuming the information. A very poor choice!

Historia
Unlike the wars in Vietnam and Iraq, the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 had near-unanimous public support. At first, the goals were straightforward and clear: Defeat al-Qaeda and prevent a repeat of 9/11. Yet soon after the United States and its allies removed the Taliban from power, the mission veered off-course and US officials lost sight of their original objectives.

I never write reviews. This book matters!
Revisado: 09-16-21
The writing and narration are both top notch, but the important takeaway from this book is how it illustrates the BIG PICTURE in how our American system works, and how dangerous the unintended consequences of good intentions can be.
The book was at times hilariously funny in a macabre sort of fashion. I beg my fellow Americans to arm yourselves with knowledge and begin to normalize the virtues of modesty and humility.

Don't buy the Audiobook!!!
Revisado: 03-04-21
I wish I had listened to the reviews about the narrator. This was truly hard to stomach, although I would imagine the physical book is pretty good. Most of the book is dialog, and it didn't really have enough new information to be worth it for me.
