Historia
In war, there is no second place. To ensure victory, planetary governments employ private armies to help fight their battles. And the Berserkers are the best. As the galaxy's preeminent mercenary force, they are hired by governments and corporations to do jobs that are too tough, too messy, or too deadly for their own forces. Expertly trained and equipped with the most advanced weaponry, they are willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill a contract - if the price is right.

Surprisingly realistic
Revisado: 04-23-25
It was definitely military sci-fi, but with a clear line back to todays equipment and tactics. Characters were realistic and the action was non-stop. I particularly enjoyed the drive to the FOP. Tactics mixed with action

Characters were interesting
Revisado: 01-06-25
I thought the book started very strong, good character development and a nice mix of action and background. Then around the middle I stopped caring and had to push myself to move forward in the story. Not sure exactly why, but I think it was a lack of originality. Still it’s worth a listen

Plausable mystery
Revisado: 08-21-24
I liked the character development. It’s sort of a mystery and sort of a near future SF story. I liked the twists and it kept my interest

Revisado: 07-07-24
First, I just loved the narrator. Perfect for the role. Second, it was an engrossing story. I didn’t think I would like it at first, but as layer after layer was revealed, I was drawn in. Worth a listen

It started out really dark and I was going to give up on it, but then there was some hope and things got better. No spoilers, but it didn’t stay all roses and butterflies. But I did enjoy it all in all

The first book was good, this one is better. The character development is excellent. The book is a mixture between the opera and the battles. I found myself really caring for the characters more than the next missile launch

Not deep, but thoroughly enjoyable
Revisado: 10-20-23
Ok, it’s not going to win any literary prizes, but I found this to be fun military SF with minimal politics. Great set of characters and pretty plausible scenarios. Of course some things bugged me, like this fixation on phones. But they don’t get in the way of a good story
