Historia
Richard is a middle-aged Englishman who runs a B&B in the fictional Val de Follet in the Loire Valley. Nothing ever happens to Richard, and really that’s the way he likes it. One day, however, one of his older guests disappears, leaving behind a bloody handprint on the wallpaper. Another guest, the exotic Valérie, persuades a reluctant Richard to join her in investigating the disappearance. Richard remains a dazed passenger in the case until things become really serious and someone murders Ava Gardner, one of his beloved hen...and you don’t mess with a fellow’s hens!

Charming story
Revisado: 04-03-25
The story is charming, humorous, and captivating. I really enjoyed this novel. However I don’t think Ian Moore is the best person to narrate his own book.

Not as good as Thursday Murder Club
Revisado: 03-19-25
Although the story is captivating, it lacks the clever and humorous dialogue found in The Thursday Murder Club. Nicola Walker’s narration is adequate but falls short in conveying emotion and often makes it difficult to distinguish between characters.

The gang's search leads them into the antiques business, where the tricks of the trade are as old as the objects themselves. Great story, bad narration
Revisado: 03-14-25
This is another brilliant novel of the series by Richard Osman. I really enjoyed the interesting and touching story. Although Fiona Shaw's narration has improved from previous book, it is still terrible. Her voice tends to drift off and she often just mutters. I had to repeat many times to understand what she was saying. please bring Lesley Manville back!

Historia
Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

Revisado: 01-19-25
The story was very captivating and kept me guessing til the end. Richard Armitage’s narration was impressive but Stephanie Racine’s was too melodramatic and did not match with the more natural style of Armitage that I preferred. Overall, a very brilliant novel.

Revisado: 10-19-24
This third book of the series focuses more on friendship, with crime investigation serving more as a backdrop. Beautifully written in a lyrical style, moving and heartbreaking. Once again, Richard Armitage’s amazing narration drew me deep into the story, making this a wonderful listening experience.

Historia
When Arnold Clover is recruited by Lizzie Hawker to help her look into her family inheritance, he cannot begin to guess the journey he is about to embark on. Lizzie's mother, an Italian countess, disappeared thirty years ago, presumed dead. Her father, a famous, some say infamous, music promoter, has just died and now the family home Ca' Scacchi, a leaning palazzo in Dorsoduro, has fallen to her. When her mother vanished so too did a priceless painting, supposedly an erotic portrait of Lucrezia Borgia, which has captivated men for generations.

Fun story
Revisado: 10-13-24
I liked this second book more than the first of the series. I enjoyed the riddle solving taking readers all over Venice. It was quite fun. I did not like the romance between Arnold and Lizzie. It’s a bit cheesy and totally unnecessary for the story and ruined the character setting for Arnold Clover. Lizzy is unlikable and annoying. Richard Armitage’s narration was excellent and impeccable.
