I like these audiobook readings by Jon Culshaw (I believe) and Bill Nighy.
This is the version of the story you want, because it’s so much easier to listen to than the other version I’ve heard.
The story is fun and exciting as usual.

I think Indra Varma does a great job as narrator, and I like the other voices too.
A wonderful story with lots of insights and humor, like all of Terry Pratchett’s books.

I read this book a while back and it was great to remember it today. Made me feel better.

The narrator did a great job—as did the other voices

I read this entire series when each book first came out, and I was pleased to discover that the narrator does a good job in bringing the book to life.

As usual, Barbara Rosenblat’s narration is excellent.
This story is darker than any of the Elizabeth Peters stories, but was still engrossing and twisty.

A great story, but the narrator didn’t do such a good job

I love this story! A great adventure, and full of fun facts and delightfully erudite references as well as some sweet insights into living in harmony with the land.
The biggest annoyance to me was that the narrator mispronounced the name of a major character.
Catriona is an unusual name in the U.S. , that’s true, but I believe the proper pronunciation is “Ka-TREE-na” and not katroyna.
Also, I think Praxiteles is pronounced “Prax-IT-el-ees” but that’s not as big a concern as the name isn’t used as much.
It’s too late now, I guess, but I wish the narrator had found a way to say the words right.

A classic Christmas country-house mystery — in Canada

During a Christmas visit to an elegant manor house in Canada, the appearance of a ghostly ship on the bay heralds misfortune and sudden death.
Inspector Madoc Rhys (pronounced “Riss” by the narrator, which I’m still not used to hearing since I’ve always thought it was “Reese”) and his fiancée Jenny solve the perplexing case together.
However, the narrator does do a nice Welsh accent, I think.

I love all the quirky residents of Lobelia Falls and this story is a fun conclusion to their goings-on.
The author has such a wide knowledge of literature and history, and dabs in all the erudite references with the lightest touch.

This loopy cast of characters had me grinning all the way through the story!
Something is rotten in the mincemeat factory—a dastardly spy is trying to steal the secret recipe for Mother Matilda’s Mincemeat Pies!
Add in a gangland-style shootout in front of a yarn shop, and an artistic landlady whose creative vision encompasses all the exciting possibilities of plastic flamingos, and you’ll smile all the way through this tale of rural Canadian skulduggery.
The narrator did an acceptable job.

The more I listen to Charlotte MacLeod’s mysteries, the more I’m just giggling like crazy. I love all the loopy thespians in this one.
The narrator is reasonably good, so it’s a fun listen.
