Historia
Victoria risks everything to leave a dangerous marriage and gain a second chance at life. But when her escape goes awry, she finds herself caught in the embrace of a mysterious siren, forced to choose: temporary salvation or immediate death. Five years later, Victoria is alive—and the world’s finest ship captain. But her debt to the siren looms while her conniving ex has demanded a king’s ransom as the final price of her freedom. Victoria refuses to cause her family to suffer any more on her behalf, and is determined to make things right before her time is up. But that time is cut short.

The Lore was Amazing
Revisado: 04-03-25
The lore and the world-building far exceeded my expectations. I kept telling my husband about it (he’s more of a Sanderson reader) and it made him want to read it. I loved the story as sad as it could be at times, but I felt satisfied by the end. Beautiful story ❤️

Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

I’ve been spoiled by graphic audiobooks with their big casts, but these two narrators were fantastic. I saw Anthony Palmini narrated this so I had to give it a try, and I finished it in three days. Highly recommend. Can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Historia
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers. The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing.

Finished it in one day. It was a great day! All of the voices were great. And the story kept me listening.the sound design was incredible that people sound closer and farther away. It feels like you’re there.
