Historia
A renegade general and a pair of indestructible soldiers await a fuel tanker on the lawless and spent planet of Kilth. While there, the general befriends the young starport mechanic. The landing of a small personal craft carrying a disoriented maiden and her lifeless brother causes the general to enlist the help of an eccentric, sometimes maniacal ship captain to help return the young woman to her home world.

Great story, great characters!
Revisado: 05-26-24
The initial intrigue that sets the opening stages of the book (and keeps you listening) give way to a great story in the end. You're enjoying the story so much, that you're halfway done before you stop and realize that the character development was much deeper than you first thought. The cover of the book is in black/white, but the characters and their roles in the story are definitely not. When you're all done and reflecting on the tale, is when you will realize the much bigger (and some might say 'moral') story that it's telling.
As I'm sure with many people, Lazlo was my favorite character. and his laugh!
Great job, Jess!

Historia
At the end of The Winter, King Arthur fought the battle that forces unity on the warring British kingdoms and now he sets out to face the real enemy - the English (it is one of the great ironies of the Arthur stories that he should have become an English hero when, if he existed at all, he was a great war-leader who opposed the invading Sais). First, though, Merlin leads a perilous expedition into the mysterious west to retrieve a cauldron, one of the treasures of Britain.

Incredible narrator, excellent story
Revisado: 05-06-17
Keeble is an absolutely amazing storyteller. His ability for accents, voices and inflection put you right into the middle of the adventure, not just listening to it. Excellent story to tell as well. 5 stars all the way around.

Hated for it to end
Revisado: 12-18-15
What made the experience of listening to The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto the most enjoyable?
Easy - the narrators. All of the characters were so fun to listen to. When their chapter ends, you'll find yourself saying "No, keep going!"
Who was your favorite character and why?
El Maestro .. I simply love his attitude and outlook. And whoever did his voice is hilariously accurate and so believable.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
While the story of this book would be a great read, and certainly easy and entertaining to follow - I believe that the narrators took this experience to a completely higher level.
Who was the most memorable character of The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto and why?
Memorable would obviously be the main character Frankie. However, it will be a long long time before I forget El Maestro.
Any additional comments?
This is one of those books that you hate to have end. You just wish it could keep going and going. If the author had written it three times as long and gone into more and more stories, you would still be left asking for more. Excellent stuff here!
