Historia
In the year 2035, robots, artificial intelligences, and neural implants have become commonplace. The Institute for Ethics keeps the peace, using social reputation to ensure that robots and humans don't harm society or each other. But a powerful AI named Adam has found a way around the restrictions. Catherine Matthews, nineteen years old, has a unique gift: the ability to manipulate the net with her neural implant. Yanked out of her perfectly ordinary life, Catherine becomes the last firewall standing between Adam and his quest for world domination.

Fun but story could have been developed more.
Revisado: 08-19-16
Too similar to Ramez Naam and Daniel Suarez's work. I liked the homage to them in the building names, but I was hoping for some novel tech concepts and stronger plot and character development. I appreciated the choice for a heroine, especially within such a male dominated genre.

Practical and illuminating

Lots of useful examples most of us can relate to. I really appreciated that they role-played difficult conversations, breaking them down to explain why they typically don't work, and then rerunning them as more productive versions.

Insightful and inspiring

I love the memes Kevin's mind cultivates! His perspective of technology and where it's taking us very much resonates with mine, and so I found this new book easy to digest. My only criticism is that I found he didn't emphasize the 12 forces enough through review or repetition at the ends of each chapter, and so they didn't feel as memorable as they could have. I listened to the book quickly and found myself unable to recall all 12 forces. Otherwise, an excellent book! I'll re-listen to it for sure.

I attended Singularity University's Executive program in 2015, so while much of the contents of this book was not entirely new for me, it really helped cement the ideas I was exposed to. I'd recommend this book to any entrepreneur out there hoping to create a company or pivot their existing company to survive in the coming years of exponential innovation.

The Singularity. It is the era of the posthuman. Artificial intelligences have surpassed the limits of human intellect. Biotechnological beings have rendered people all but extinct. Molecular nanotechnology runs rampant, replicating and reprogramming at will. Contact with extraterrestrial life grows more imminent with each new day.

Best singularity story I've ever read
Revisado: 02-28-16
I read the book a few years ago and loved it, and recently after attending Singularity University, listened to the audio version. I enjoyed the audio version more. George Guidall does a great job narrating and doing each of the character voices.
The story is fascinating, funny and intense - accelerating at a sometimes dizzying pace which keeps with the pace of a post-singular civilization.
