This is great - with the commentary brought chapter by chapter before each reading not after - I got a nice little preface of the coming chapter and helpful definitions of words uncommon in English and then at the end of the book a reading without the commentary interspersed so that was lovely - the narrator is excellent and gives a precise smooth delivery with purposeful flare sprinkled throughout but not like a cake with too much frosting 🧁

Steven Pacey may be the most bestest narrator mmmmm ever - I love and I think if I was a book I’d want him to read me too - drivers super compelling characters - I mean I feel the voices just come alive - the only thing better would be a tag team with him and maybe Susan Sarandon or like Minnie Driver - maybe Maggie - he deserves the Tony Grammy of Narration.

Oh and Joe A delivers here another fabulous fantastic swashbuckler of a tale with all the juicy bits and betrayal I find so delicious in his other stories.

Great narration lots of soul

Like an engorged candle burning at both ends held by a queen playing a maid slippery in the pew during a play on Sunday moaning laughter from a crowd blissed out on ecstasy after a bawdy night of gambling in classy lady named brandy… punctuated with pinches of ultra violence - but nothing that over salted the stew.
order all three at once because you won’t be able to stop.

This will be a revelation if you haven’t read his other books - otherwise - diversify your assets beyond stocks and put your seat belt on. Oh and Covid. Not a lot of news here - this is a magazine article with the Rickards flare , some regurgitations from the previous same same and some state depart-minty talking points. Which is excellent for anyone who wants a little inside peep and can read good. Yes, There is a recipe for how to allocate your kids inheritance till you kick it - in the last couple chapters somewhere - don’t worry it won’t take long. Not to bag on Jim too hard - but you could watch his much more enjoyable interviews on kitco and drop in the same bucket

- I’d say a solid 4 hours
Of tolerable background narration for a flight to empty you safe deposit box.

What’s not to love !

Expect some talking points that sound like state department sound bites - but hey - he’s an asset :) still - gotta love the insights and just because he’s a spook sometimes doesn’t mean he’s wrong - gold - 10 percent and be more than a portfolio - gentleman’s farm is what’s up when the fan is all covered in the poop cuz in the end it’s just a new beginning but even Rich’s rich is gonna need to eat !

Nice work Jim - people say you can’t read good but I disagree and boy oh boy you’re a regular wordy smith poet for an analyst - I like your flare. 3 cheers for the Rickards.

Good story bits -marvelous performance by the reader. World is super fun but some cheese connectors that seem a little too stringy. If this is your first Alistair - just put it down and go get the prefect or go strait revelation space or diamond dogs - cuz that will give you the true true :)
