A great American story of a lesser known history.
Nine ordinary Americans who worked together to achieve something extraordinary.

Orphan X keeps growing!

One of the best aspects of this series is that Evan Smoak is still a human "work in progress". Hurwitz is allowing Evan to experience his growing sense of human connection with each new book so each story is not formulaic and repetitive, but rather engaging and fresh every time.
In Dark Hoorse, there are bad guys, good guys, and the guys that are in the middle trying to redeem themselves.
Scott Brick is, as always, Perfect! Narration, characterizations, and emotion strikes the right balance to allow the listener in to each moment as the story unfolds.
This may be my favorite Orphan X book yet!

could definitely have done without the random sound effects - they were so rarely used that when they did show up in the audio, it was jarring and unnecessary.

I loved this Mitch Rapp book!!

Through a really good storyline this latest in Mitch Rapp's story was also a look at the character's humanity and mortality.
The usual cast of characters, with a few new ones made for a great listen.
highly recommended for Mitch Rapp fans, and lovers of the genre.

Good story but this narrator, not so much

This was not necessarily what I have come to expect from Preston and Child, but the reader/narrator may be the reason.
I just about cringe every time she reads in what she considers a man's voice (which is often). The drop in register and added vocal chord ruffling are so unnecessary and did more distraction than good. I wish she would just read more and play act less.
And when did AXP become British? Bad chioce.

The screen play writes itself!

I enjoy the Pitt series quite a bit and this may be one of the best yet!
All of the usual suspects are there in an intriguing and action filled story that is both close to home (for those of us in North America), yet far away.
Scott Brick is, as always, the Voice! My favorite narrator in the genre.

Great concept, great plot, hours of enjoyment!

There are a lot of characters to keep track of at first, but don't fret! You will find yourself wondering what will happen next? How will these folks fare? Who will survive in the post apocalyptic world? Will character and conscience overcome greed and evil?
It is truly a satisfying story.
