Historia
Retrospectives are indispensable for continuous learning and improvement in lean, Agile, DevOps, and other contexts, but most of us have suffered through at least one retrospective that was a waste of time or worse. Now, leading agile coach Aino Vonge Corry identifies 24 reasons that retrospectives fail and shows how to overcome each of them. Using the familiar “patterns” approach, Retrospectives Antipatterns introduces antipatterns related to structure, planning, people, distributed teams, and more.

Mandatory reading for ambitious Scrum Masters!
Revisado: 07-22-23
Aino is one of the best Retrospectives facilitators, period! In this book she shares her experiences, both the successful ones and the ones she learned the most from. Structured as anti-patterns with their corresponding patterns (yet another area of expertise of Aino's), the book teaches the reader how to spot dysfunctions and how the remedy them. My personal opinion is that many of the book's advice are applicable in other setting than just Retrospectives - these are advice for becoming a successful employee or consultant as well.

Finally a book helping leaders become agile
Revisado: 04-25-23
In most books on agile adoption or agile transformation, the focus is on what changes needs to happen to employees. New roles, structures and processes to adopt, and new vocabulary to learn. But the changes leaders need to take on themselves are typically ignored or understated. This book dives deep into why and how leaders can adopt an agility-compatible leadership style, and tells about the difficulties and struggles to expect.

Useful, but quite rigid
Revisado: 04-18-23
The book certainly contains lots of useful advice to new leaders. It just seems like a very one-size-fits-all attitude, that does not resonate well woth me.

Historia
Public speaking can be terrifying. For David Nihill, the idea of standing in front of an audience was scarier than cliff jumping into a thorny pit of spiders and mothers-in-law. Without a parachute or advanced weaponry. Something had to change.
In what doesn't sound like the best plan ever, David decided to overcome his fears by pretending to be a comedian called "Irish Dave" for one full year, crashing as many comedy clubs, festivals, and shows as possible.
