The bad first…

Very slow burn like 2 1/2 books in the series slow.
Frustrating FMC- bad communication and decisions
For every one good thing that happens 10 bad things… not a feel good book

The good….
Strong relationships, found family
A lot of world building and lore
A girl finding her way one mistake at a time
Some romantic moments… 🌶️



There was a few times I almost DNF because the book the got depressing and the main romantic relationship and fmc were frustrating. However , the world development , the side characters and narration kept me going. I will finish the series because I’m hoping for the HEA after this very long drawn out journey.

Cliffhanger and emotional ending

This book answers some old questions and leaves you wanting answers to new ones.It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster especially during the last part of the book. The main narrator was good but struggled with the male voices in this one which made it hard to follow at times. Now the wait begins for book four!!!

All the feels!

The narrators brought this book to life and made you feel their journey to a HEA.

Abby has a way of making you laugh one chapter and grab a Kleenex the next. I love this genre of books but she takes them to a next level. Being from a neighboring state of MN, I love the references to places that I have been to and it makes these books even more special.

The topics she addresses can be triggering for some because they are parallel to real life struggles but their stories and journeys beautiful. Can’t recommend enough.

Love Abby J but this one wasn’t her best

I read this series out of order and I loved all the others, however, this one has unnecessary angst and was quite frustrating at times. Erin Mallon has grown on me as a narrator, I wasn’t a fan when I first started listening to audio. Teddy Hamilton is amazing. Back to the book.. it starts out with the two MCs developing a friendship and trying to deny their mutual attraction.. There’s. Boyfriend that is absent that plays a factor but most is centered around the FMC’s health issues and insecurities. For developing the bond they did the communication and games that were played makes it hard to stay with the book. There’s a death that sets up the next book but honestly it could’ve not happened. The happy ever after was ok, by the time I got there- I was like… this convo should’ve happened 7 chapters ago. It’s not the worse book but not the 5 stars I rated others by the author.

This story is full of angst, broken MMC who deals with his pain in unhealthy ways and the FMC has a huge secret that is kept for over half of the book. I love this author and this book was good but it’s definitely frustrating at times and sad. Stella Hunter is a fav of mine and Ryan West is good but his voice just didn’t seem to fit with a 30 year old rock star… he sounded older to me. I would recommend but you need to be in the mood for this angsty love story.

Not the Best

I hate saying this but this one was hard to listen to. I actually skipped parts to get to the end. The story itself wasn’t as engaging to me and narration fell flat. Other books the narrators brought the characters to life and there was so much emotion. In this one I felt like someone was just reading to me with little variation in tone between emotions and characters. I love the world LR has created but this book was just ok.

Cute Rom Com

I liked the humor and how the relationship evolved with the two MCs. This was a sweet love story, low angst and PG-13 steam. Narration was awesome. My only complaint was the ending felt a bit rushed. Would definitely recommend.

This book is witty, heartfelt with just enough steam. You can’t help but get invested in these characters and their journeys to HEA. Narration was spot on.

These books are in a league of their own and I can’t wait for the next one!

The first two books were amazing. The narration was great for this book but there was just Too much not saying how they feel, it was for almost half the book and by the time they did I wasn’t really vested anymore.
