Rebecca Woolf takes the reader on an intense journey from death to life. She is brutal and honest, yet funny and insightful. One of the best memoirs I have read. So good.

If you like to learn about real people and real experiences, this book is great. The author is honest with her perceptions and provides little bits of insight into improving a person’s daily life.
Candidly, I already like Emma from taking her Peloton classes, but I feel like her narrative is more universal than just the fitness community.
Plus, Emma narrating her own story just makes is “extra-real”.

What made the experience of listening to All the Birds in the Sky the most enjoyable?

Anders sets a compelling story, set in the past, present and her imaginative future --what was it, "slam-dub"? I can't imagine a worse sounding mess. Yet besides the imagination necessary to create her compelling future, the characters and their connections were compelling. Anders creates a believable world of fantasy --I know, I know, the contradictions of my statement are not lost, but Anders' characters are very enjoyable to follow as they navigate from childhood to middle school and then as young adults.

I really enjoyed the book and can only hope that there will be future sequels. (5 stars is something that I would usually reserve for classics, but I have a feeling that Anders' works will be something to read.)

What did you like best about this story?

Excellent character creation and development.

Where does Midnight Alley rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The series is apparently well known, although I am somewhat new to it and only found it through another anthology. However, the character development is nice and the plot is creative.

What did you like best about this story?

The character interaction and development is enjoyable. Too often the characters in this genre are cliche and stereotypes, but Ms. Caine did an excellent job at making her characters as "real" as possible.

Have you listened to any of Cynthia Holloway’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Cynthia Holloway does a nice job with the character voices and her interpretation is very strong in this series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This series isn't War and Peace, but at its heart it is honest and the plot themes and characters could easily be removed from the vampire-genre and put into almost any situation. To me, that makes the books enjoyable and worth the listen.

Any additional comments?

My ratings may seem high, but they should be taken in the context of the genre. Ms. Caine avoids falling into gimmicks or cliches and, instead, takes a creative and thought provoking look into a possible alternative universe where vampires and humans interact in the context of a small Texas town.

Where does Find Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is hard to rank this book with my other books, but I enjoyed the listen and found that the author's use of masks (a common theme in her stories) translates well to the topic of the book.

What other book might you compare Find Me to and why?

I can't necessarily compare the book, but I am sure that there are quite a few books in the post-pandemic genre.

Have you listened to any of Emily Woo Zeller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First time. She was good, not perfect, but good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually finished it in one day. I started in the morning on a 5 hour drive and finished it on the return trip that evening.

Any additional comments?

I think that listeners have been overly critical of what was a refreshing take on the all-to-common theme of the world-wide outbreak. The character interaction is what I enjoyed the most about the book.

If you could sum up Tall, Dark, and Dead in three words, what would they be?

In my prior review of Tate Hallaway's series, my scope and sense of reality may have been askew. This is a very fun novel, written well, with compelling and likeable characters. Far from the two-dimensional traditional portrayal of the undead, Ms. Hallaway's characters are flawed, funny and ... (and this is where it may be an odd description) real.

What other book might you compare Tall, Dark, and Dead to and why?

Any book that is character-driven, and not driven by baseball games played at night. You learn to care about the individuals and the undead/witch story is a necessary supporting role.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ronconi is an excellent, excellent narrator. Her Midwestern accent is practically perfect. She also excels at the undead-male roles... hmmm., that is a diverse scope of craft.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Madison, Wisconsin, the culture never tasted so delicious... and vegan too!

Any additional comments?

Know your writer and maintain appropriate expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed this book --as with most of the series and (have) recommended them to my friends.
