Good story. I would have like for the book to focus more on Eojhen and Inessa. There was a lot of other characters in this story. The story was also fairly short.

I have ready many Sadie Kinkaid books and Audiobooks, have really enjoyed her writing and Audiobooks in the past. This story didn’t read like Sadie Kinkaid. The characters acted like teenagers, FMC narrator sounded whiny, with an attempt to be overly sexy. Her voice was annoying. The MFC talked too much and too much detail and explanation about their feelings. The book reminded me of a Harlequin Romance with more detailed smexy scenes but the writing/story line was very poor. The scenes were unmoving and the characters didn’t have appeal. I did not find this story enjoyable. I did finish the story only to see how it ended. This story is so very different than other Sadie Kinkaid books. Very disappointing book and audio.

Interesting story with a lot of unique twist and turns. Steam could have been better. Would have been nice to have an Epilogue 2 to see their life after graduation. Other than that good story, excellent narrators who really brought the story to life.

Excellent Narrator - Teddy Hamilton rocks

Story was exhausting. Had a hard time understanding how easy it was for MFC (Melody) to ignore and forgive the known actions MMC (Jacob). Could fathom why she never asked what type of drugs she was given and then took a drug given to her by Jacob with questioning what it was. Did not understand why she was so upset over what her ex did when Jacob did much worse. There was a lot of talk about the ex being bad he threatened to hurt Jacob but I just did not feel the emotion.

I did not feel the connection between the Melody and Jacob. There was a sexual connection but it was missing something that just didn’t feel romantic or intense. Too much talking.

Felt there was a lot of unnecessary information that didn’t add value to the storyline, too in depth about the hockey games and other details that didn’t seem relevant.

I feel that Teddy Hamilton was able to make the story bearable. The female narrator dragged her words and sounded a bit robotic.

Well written story of young love misunderstood. Two teens with feelings for each other but misunderstood by each other. Rina does a great job captivating the level of young immaturity and mistakes made when young. Mistake that have long reaching consequences. Love how these two characters reconnect years later but their adult life was shaped by their youth and interaction with each other. Daniel is mean and hateful. Nicole understands Daniel far better than he knows. Rina does a superb job of making you feel deeply for Nicole even with all her mistakes, she loves deep and has spent her life loving this man and her brother. She’s sacrificed so much. It was great to see her receive love.

As for the Audio, Shane East is amazing as always. Christy Wood’s voice sounds too old for Nicole. Her voice doesn’t give the interpretation of sophisticated young beauty in her 20’s.

Love all of Christine Feehan books. Wonderful stories. The audios are awful because the voices are not right for the characters. Books also would be better with a duet style. Would love for these books to have new audio books with a different narrator and duet.

I love Rina Kent’s books. Have read all of them many times except the Zero series. She’s a fantastic writer. I love how the book wraps up the lives of the other characters to close out this series. Ava and Eli did not move me. I feel like there was a lot of focus on Ava’s mental illness psychosis but for some reason it just didn’t resonate well. Ava seemed very immature throughout the book and I don’t find the same level of emotional feels that were in the other books. Eli and Ava’s first sexual experience seemed to come out of nowhere and in a broom closet seemed strange and missed the mark for me. Eli was an interesting character. I did not feel the emotion in this book, but that being said it was good story and worth listening to.

Narrators did a great job with this story and both narrators are superb. The writing was a bit repetitive with repeated inner dialogue. Seemed to take too long to get to something between the characters. Emotions between the 2 characters happened quickly which is okay but book seemed to be missing some angst or action. Both characters were nice and wanted each other but had a lot of inner talking about each other. By chapter 37 the characters were still going through the same inner monologue and hesitation from the main female character. Overall, by chapter 37, I was bored with the story and wanted the story to get to some kind of conclusion. The steamy scenes lacked something and did not feel steamy even though the words were steamy. The male narrator did a great job and sounded sexy but sounded a bit older than 45. Female narrator fit the character well and had a mature sound that fit a 40 year old. Overall a bit boring and too repetitive.

Story line wasn’t believable

First would like to say I enjoy Rina Kent’s books. Her Trilogies are favorites. I have read all her books except the zero series and have read each book more than once.
As a fan I have read this book and listened to the audio more than once to voice a fair perspective.

I found this book not as believable and wasn’t a favorite.
Annika seemed very immature. Had a hard time relating her age of 17-18, with the juice and glitter everything. Her actions I could not empathize with.

The female narrator’s voice made Annika sound much older.

Annika mentioned several times that she was well trained in shooting and never missed..so I had a difficult time understanding how she almost killed Creighton when shooting him when she could have shot him in a different location to stop him from trying to kill her brother. Her innocence and naivety did not match with her actions sexually.

As for his Creighton, I had hard time understanding and empathizing with his lingering anger and bitterness. He was 3 years old when his mom tried to kill him with gas asphyxiation.
He profoundly remembered so many details of things that happened at age 3 or younger and held on to that for 20+ years. I found this difficult to believe.
He was adopted at age 3 into a loving and affluent family..this long held anger for losing his parents was something I just couldn’t relate to since he was 3 when the tragedy happened. Also did not get how he would think threatening his girlfriends brother would assuage his anger, nor could I understand him wanting to be shot or risk his relationship or why he needed to force Annika to chose him over her brother by threatening to kill her brother.

I do get how circumstances shape you but the memories and the prolonged bitterness with his fortunate circumstances seems out of place. The narrators voice sounded weird, although I get he was trying to pull off a nonchalant bored and unpaused demeanor. The voice just didn’t fit well.

Creighton’s kidnapping Annika also seemed overly extreme and seemed to only happen to fit in with one of Annika’s fantasies to be kidnapped even though his kidnapping was psychotic to think they could live away from everyone for the rest of their lives.

Overall I felt both characters were immature, not much in character development. Spice…was okay but not sure I can believe that anyone as inexperienced as Annika would have enjoyed the first experience. I felt that had this been a real situation, I do not feel that the relationship could have recovered after being shot by your girlfriend and then kidnapping the girl that shot you to rekindle the relationship.

This book wasn’t as enjoyable as of other books by this Author.

I had to think about this book. The story is an about a 19 year old girl Delilah and much older male named Lucus. I can appreciate how the author made the FMC sound immature, easily manipulated. I do think the way the young girl grew up and the environment she was in with the lack of choices, I can see how she would respond the way she did to many things which were in a less mature and worldly way. It is easy to see how she would accept and learn to love the MMC even though he wasn’t kind for much of the 1st book. For this reason I find her actions more realistic. The female narrator made the story difficult to get through. The Female narrator’s voice was nasally and whiny sounding. It always sounded like she was about to cry. This story wasn’t as exciting as the 1st 3 Corium books but it was okay. Story could greatly be improved with a different female narrator.
