Historia
Mental prayer is a type of prayer that has traditionally been used by Catholics to draw closer to God by meditating on various aspects of the faith, such as heaven, the shortness of life, in addition to stories and parables in the Bible, and even simply contemplating on the face of Christ. In this short catechism, Fr. Joseph Simler gives an introduction to the practice in a simple question and answer format, moving from defining what mental prayer is, to dealing with difficulties such as distraction and aridity. A classic work that will help anybody grow closer to Christ.

This is a well done version of Simler’s “Catechism of Mental Prayer” but it abruptly ends at 148 - missing out on 149-154 addressing Illusions. I recommend getting the printed version to go along with this. My printed version (from TAN) includes a 24 page supplement covering practical suggestions related to the Catechism. It includes Preparation, Suggested Subjects for Meditation, Spiritual Bouquets, Examination of Mental Prayer, Conclusion, and more.

Historia
Can you answer this question: Who is the Antichrist and what is the Apocalypse? The earliest Christians following the Twelve Apostles often spoke and wrote about the arrival of the Antichrist before the return of Jesus Christ at the end of time. Best-selling author and professor Dr. Taylor Marshall provides an easy-to-understand collection of Church fathers, saints, and mystics as he pulls back the curtain on the end times prophecies of the Book of Revelation—the book originally called the Apocalypse.

Fantastic companion to Revelation.
Revisado: 09-17-23
The first 1.5 hours are background establishing what is known about the antichrist and debunking myths. It then goes into a, more or less, chapter by chapter analysis of Apocalypse. Within each chapter there is a verse-by-verse and sometimes word-by-word breakdown with Catholic Commentary and clarification from Church Fathers. Dr. Marshall extensively references earlier bible passages from the Old Testament and the New Testament and explains how they all point to Revelation. I was amazed at how much of Daniel and Ezekiel show up in Revelation. I listened to the first 1.5 hour section as if it were one book and then read a chapter of Revelation followed by the corresponding chapter/chapters in Antichrist and the Apocalypse. This really helped me get a lot more clarification on each chapter. They did a great job with the chapter markers, they are clearly labeled which makes it easy to jump around and get the commentary that you need to go with your bible reading. The extra time spent with this audiobook after reading was a force multiplier of comprehension. I highly recommend Antichrist and the Apocalypse to get the most out of Revelation.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Even If You're Not Into This Kind of Thing...
Revisado: 04-13-18
What did you love best about Goodbye, Things?
It is a great reminder that things are not what is important in life. We can easily loose sight of that and start acting as caretakers for our things instead of using them wisely to enhance out lives. It is also pretty short so you can get a lot out of it with just a little effort.
Have you listened to any of Keith Szarabajka’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to this narrator before. I really like him he has a clear and calming voice. I will definitely re-listen to this book and I wouldn't hesitate to choose something else he reads.
What did you learn from Goodbye, Things that you would use in your daily life?
I was reminded, in a very convincing way, that things are just things and we shouldn't let them run our lives or even get in the way of everyday living.
