Historia
Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences of her earlier years. It includes tales of living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross-country road trip, saying good-bye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today.

I loved hearing about her whacky adventures
Revisado: 03-08-24
What a cool life to live with Steven Spielberg as the stand in father and Hollywood as a backdrop. She worked hard to build her life back and it’s good to see her thrive. I would’ve loved the adventures in chronological order bc it was hard to keep the timeline

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

I guess I do like Harry Potter after all
Revisado: 02-01-24
First time reading Harry Potter and it was fantastic! The best part about it was the narrator he had a specific voice for every character and it flowed smoothly even in parts with many characters. I will definitely be finishing the series

Historia
Animals are the direct product of their environment. They reactively evolve over time based on external circumstances. The process of their evolution is slow and random. Human beings are the indirect product of their environment. Although the environment is the medium through which humans adapt and evolve, our choices determine our environments. This is the fundamental difference. We get to decide the course and intensity of our personal evolution by intelligently designing our environments.

Historia
In The Silver Women, Joan Flores-Villalobos argues that Black West Indian women made the Panama Canal construction possible by providing the indispensable everyday labor of social reproduction. West Indian women built a provisioning economy that fed, housed, and cared for the segregated Black West Indian labor force, in effect subsidizing the construction effort and the racial calculus that separated pay in silver for Black workers and gold for white Americans.

A new perspective on a long ago history
Revisado: 01-23-24
I love hearing the perspective of the people behind the scenes that history seems to forget about. In this case it was the black women who fed and housed the men who worked on one of the most important projects of the Americas. I enjoyed the accent of the narrator she reminded me of my Abuelita who was from Bocas del Toro in Panama. Thank you for this book it’s so necessary to hear all parts of the story!

Historia
Have you ever found yourself wondering “Why do I want more than I have?” Michael Easter, author of The Comfort Crisis and one of the world’s leading experts on behavior change, shows that the problem isn’t you. The problem is your scarcity mindset, left over from our ancient ancestors. They had to constantly seek and consume to survive because vital survival tools like food, material goods, information, and power were scarce and hard to find. But with our modern ability to easily fulfill our ancient desire for more, our hardwired “scarcity brain” is now backfiring.
