Historia
Meet Claire: fifty-two, desperate to do something new and get a fresh start. Enter the chance to go to Rome: Home to a struggling convent facing a precipitous end, the city beckons Claire, who's long had a complicated relationship with religion, including a “missed connection” with convent life in her teens. Once in Rome, she finds a group of funny, fearless nuns in a gorgeous villa, beautiful runs throughout a color-saturated city, and a chance to reflect. It all leads her to an unexpected question—should she join the convent?

Could not finish this book- I really tried.
Revisado: 02-08-24
It is entirely too slow. I could not devote any more of my time to try to understand or empathize with Claire’s thoughts and actions- both past and present.

Quickly become one of my favorite series
Revisado: 06-16-23
Engaging, beautiful imagery and captivating characters. I could not wait to pick it back up when I had to stop reading for a while. The narrator was perfect.

Historia
It's 1949. When war veteran Aloysius Archer is released from Carderock Prison, he is sent to Poca City on parole with a short list of dos and a much longer list of don'ts: do report regularly to his parole officer, don't go to bars, certainly don't drink alcohol, do get a job - and don't ever associate with loose women. The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

I wish I had quit chapters ago
Revisado: 11-29-22
This was not my favorite Balducci book by any means . Predictable, stereotypical - definitely not the best plot so far. I’m giving up. Can’t waste anymore time one this one. I feel like I am watching an awful remake of a 1940’s gangster film.

Historia
Shelby works as a dog walker in northern California, and she’s just finished up her bi-weekly trip to the park with a husky named Pluto. When she brings him back to his house, she finds his owner - Todd Burke, a well-known local businessman and founder of an organic supplements company - lying on the bathroom floor, dead. A detective arrives on the scene. As she interviews Shelby, the body is inspected by a medical examiner, and more cops search Todd’s home, it becomes clear that the victim’s life was less picture-perfect than his clean-cut persona might lead you to believe.

I wasted my life
Revisado: 10-28-21
I can’t believe the ending. Very far fetched and annoyed my time was wasted on this ridiculous reason for murders.

Couldn’t get through it
Revisado: 08-23-21
It felt predictable. Although the narrator probably did an accurate representation of the voices, there were so many annoying characters with annoying voices - I dreaded listening further. I finally just quit.

Historia
Will Robie escaped his small Gulf Coast hometown of Cantrell, Mississippi, after high school, severing all personal ties, and never looked back. Not once. Not until the unimaginable occurs. Unlike the missions Robie undertook in the service of his country, where his target was clearly defined, digging into his father's case only reveals more questions. Robie is drawn into the hidden underside of Cantrell, where he must face the unexpected and possibly deadly consequences of the long-ago choices made by father and son.

Very disappointing
Revisado: 10-12-19
First of all, I love this series. I was more than excited to read another book about Will and Jessica. However, what I found was stereotypes, flat characters and narrators who didn’t even do their homework on how to pronounce towns. No one from MS would pronounce Biloxi as bye-lox-ee. I almost turned it off after the first few chapters just because of the horrible narration. But I wanted to give it a chance because I enjoyed the previous books. The ending was way too much. Felt very campy and forced.
