Let's make a deal, you and me. Let's make promises to each other. I promise to tell you my story. The whole story. I'll tell you about a boy in love with Jesus, who, at the fateful onset of puberty, realized his sexual attractions were persistently and exclusively for other guys. I'll tell you how I lay on my bed in the middle of the night and whispered to myself the words I've whispered 1000 times since: "I'm gay." I'll show you the world through my eyes.

Best book I’ve read this year!
Revisado: 08-03-22
Such great insight into a gay Christian man’s thoughts. But more than just that. It is thought provoking and life affirming and leaves me with a greater desire to truly exercise unconditional love to all people as Christ calls us to.

Historia
It's easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us: differences in age, parenting styles, career goals, or maybe even core beliefs about whether leggings can adequately serve as pants (the struggle is real, y'all). The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it's high time we step out of our same-age, same-stage silos. Life is so much better that way.

A heavy subject and a sad story
Revisado: 07-15-21
A book that pulls you in and breaks your heart for refugees. The story line is hard to follow for parts of the book, but I’m sure it’s intentional. As the plot develops one begins to see why it’s this way. It was a bit too sad for my heart at the particular time I read it, so I can’t say I really “like” it, but it is a well done story on an important issue of our times. A satisfying ending.

I’d heard so much hype about this book. Thought I would really like it.
I was surprised when it came to an end. There wasn’t a satisfying denouement - it just left you hanging a bit.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author David Horowitz exposes not only the progressive war against Christianity but also a war against America and its founding principles - which are Christian in their origin. Dark Agenda is about an embattled religion, but, most of all, it is about our imperiled nation. Tackling a broad range of issues from prayer in the schools to the globalist mindset, Horowitz traces the anti-Christian movement to its roots in communism.

David Horowitz cuts through the political ramblings from both sides to present a picture of how our government has been shaped over the past 15 years or so. Very interesting book and an important book to read and think through.
