Narrator did a variety of accents flawlessly.

Love everything Greaney has done. This is no exception. Apparently they require fifteen words or more.

Save yourself the misery
Revisado: 10-08-23
Terrible.
The plot holes are a mile wide. It goes on and on and on and on. The characters keep doing stupid things and not recognizing the obvious. Although the characterizations are paper-thin, they are unlikable.
The narrator was generally good, but occasionally mispronounced words which the editor didn't recognize or correct.
I regret not having returned the book when I first saw the direction this train wreck was going.

An Epic Masterpiece
Revisado: 03-19-19
The best book I’ve listened to in a very long time, and I average about 175 books a year.
This trilogy finally takes the veil off of the government’s so called “war on drugs.” An amazingly complex but accessible inter generational saga with very few good guys, the reality depicted is undeniable.
The characters are deeply rendered and often deeply flawed. The narrator flows effortlessly through a dizzying array of people and personalities from literally all walks of life.
EVERY American should read this book.

Historia
Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race”, a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of Black women and men - bodies exploited through slavery and segregation and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a Black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’ attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son.

This 65 year old “white” guy is thankful for this bold and searing truth telling that is so desperately needed in Trump’s America.
