An intricate who done it with psychological twists and turns, and an ending you won't see coming until you're in the midst of it. There's a satisfying outcome though. Wow! One of the best crafted mysteries I've "read" in quite some time.

Fantastic and Foreboding

Scholarly yet approachable, ominously brilliant. This is a look at social history from the early renaissance through the late 1990s, with a frighteningly astute (and accurate) prediction of the US right now. Society goes through cycles, and there's a storm breaking in 2025. Listen, and find out how it happens. Then check out the sequel - mind blown.

Plucks at the Heart Strings

An excellent retelling of the traditional tale from the song The Bonnie Swans. The magic is described perfectly? the battles are fierce, and the relationships complex. Be advised, one of the three siblings is trans, in case that matters to you.

NOT a how-to book!

This book is a biography/memoir, and does well at what it is. But it is NOT actually a book of instructions on how to oppose dictatorship. I'll probably finish listening to this eventually, but right now there are other priorities.

Starts slow but worth it

This one started slow and felt a little farcical at first. But I stuck with it and that turned out to be an excellent decision. The happily ever after with a twist ending is great.

Weird; did not finish. It being an audio play and no narrator made it difficult to follow. And the alien farm tie in is way overdone.

Horrible and Depressing

This is so horrible I returned it. 3 of the 5 hours is either him chanting in Sanskrit (I think), soothing meditation music with no talking, or him chanting "I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love" over and over for about half an hour. That is NOT a good things to have droned into your mind if you're an abuse survivor. That is NOT how I choose to petition Source or the Universe. That is NOT how you achieve joy and abundance. Oh, the other 2 hours is him making bad metaphors about your meta-soul being a whiteboard and every time you get an idea to erase it. What? No.

Not Really About Vampires

If you were expecting a vampire story like early in this series, you might be disappointed. But then again you might find this explanation of how vampires really got to be what they are fascinating. If you wanted an excursion to a sunken city, more disappointment. But if you're a fan of some of the new age fringe theories about ancient prehistory, this could be fun for you.
