Good plot bogged down by irrelevant characters in the first half

Great story, however, I wasn’t a fan of how the first two parts had chapters dedicated to the Salamanders, Space Wolves & the assistant to the Emperor (Alivia).

I can understand these characters inclusion in the story however I wanted a tale all about the Thousand Sons, why have so much time dedicated to these other characters (let alone entire chapters dedicated to them).

Graham didn’t do this with his main Thousand Sons book or his Magnus: Master of Prospero book either so I’m not sure why he did this here.

Outside of that, it’s a solid tale, especially if you’re a Thousand Sons fan as it provides a glimpse into Magnus & the legion right before they truly become a traitor legion & it’s tragic for sure!

Solid entry in the lore of the Thousand Sons legion.

I enjoyed the descriptions of the psychic powers displayed by Magnus & Ahriman & their battle with this psychic force on a dying planet.

The narrator did an excellent job with his descriptions of the action scenes & thought processes of the characters.

I like the explanation of how the Iron Warriors are very analytical & mechanical in their approach & thought processes compared to the Thousand Sons (though they do have their own sense of compassion & humanity).

Great short story if you’re a Thousand Sons fan or a fan of psykers in 40k in general.

I really like how in-depth Dr. Aziz goes into the root cause of niceness & people-pleasing & being apologetic for what you want.

I do believe the advice & guidelines he provides for overcoming this issue are genuinely effective, however I feel he could’ve cut down on the page length by at least 100 pages or so. There’s way too many personal anecdotes in this book that you start thinking “please just get to the main idea already!”.

It is a solid book overall, I just feel the length could have been much shorter than 500 pages.

Great story into the life of a man who’s born with telepathy & how he uses it. I like how the tale is basically a metaphor for growing older. Wasn’t a fan of how pessimistic the protagonist is; he’s not a very likable character & he’s a bit of a misogynist too. Otherwise solid read.

Great book for men who feel lost in life

The author in the first couple of chapters explains his method for reaching his young male clients & really explains the issues young men face in contemporary times (lack of a rites of passage, difficulty forming their own identity & connecting with others, etc.). Modern men need mentorship & other men in their lives. Now more than ever before, men are no longer making other men. The author mentions Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid & figures like that are exactly what comes to mind when I think of male mentors (this whole book reminds me of the Magician Jungian archetype honestly).

He explains how men need to go through 4 stages to reach their highest potential: bonding, exploring, engaging & creating. He mentions how you should perceive your life as if it were a Netflix show & ask yourself do you enjoy hearing about or watching your life & when you tell people your job & lifestyle, do they feel engaged?

Overall, this is a great book for young men & especially for men who feel lost in their lives & feel they haven’t lived their lives in a manner that’s in alignment with their core values & beliefs. Highly recommended.

This was a solid book highlighting Carl Jung, his life, his work & his ideas. This isn’t the most detailed book on his ideas & on Jungian Psychology but it’s a good introduction to the man himself & his approach to psychology overall.

I found this to be a well-researched & thought-provoking book examining the origin of laziness & how this myth has permeated much of society. The lack of a strong labor/left movement in the US post WW2 has enabled this laziness myth to perpetuate & effect all aspects of life in American society, from our work lives to our personal & relationship lives.

The author provides practical steps to overcome this lie & to live more fulfilling & balanced lives. Overall, I recommend this book if you struggle with feeling like you’re always unproductive & aren’t “doing enough” in your everyday life.

Inducing & Maintaining Attraction 101

Listened to this for the second time to really hammer in the main points down. I recently finished listening to The Rational Male (after having read this) & discovered much of what that author said was explained in greater detail in Atomic Attraction. I felt this book really explained the exact behaviors, traits & characteristics a man needs in order to induce & maintain attraction.

I found this book to be far superior to The Rational Male as the author gets straight & to the point detailing what exactly a man needs to do with regards to dating & relationships. Whereas the Rational Male moreso explained the “why” of male & female relationships (I felt the author rambled on too much & could’ve gotten to the point faster). My only gripe with Atomic Attraction was I wish the author would’ve narrated it instead of the designated narrator. Felt his voice was a bit boring & uninteresting.

Overall, I’d say Atomic Attraction is the best book available in regards to learning what as a man you need to do to have fruitful & fulfilling relationships & overall success with women.
