Historia
Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life. He still does the odd bit of investigation work, but he prefers his familiar routines: the pub quiz, his favorite bench, his cat waiting for him at home. His days of adventure are over. Adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s job now. Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul. Working in private security, every day is dangerous. She’s currently on a remote island protecting mega-bestselling author Rosie D’Antonio, until a dead body and a bag of money mean trouble in paradise. So she sends an SOS to the only person she trusts . . .

Another Amazing Start of a Promising Series!
Revisado: 03-10-25
It is such a joy to find an author like Richard Osman. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the Thursday Murder Club books so far, and this book was even more delightful! I will look forward to the next installment!

Historia
Matt is being punished for a crime he saw, but didn't commit. Instead of being locked up, he is being sent to the middle of nowhere to live with a new foster mom, as part of a government scheme called The Leaf Project. But Matt's new home provides anything but peace and quiet. His new guardian is involved in very sinister things, and the whole town seems to be on her side. The truth is much bigger than Matt or the town, but Matt is the only person who can stop the ultimate evil from being unleashed.

One of the Darkest YA books I've Read
Revisado: 02-24-25
This book is very dark, depressing and violent. The writing is good, but the story is not. If you have any anxiety or depression issues or have a young reader that is sensitive at all, skip this series!

Amazing Story, but annoying narrator
Revisado: 06-23-24
I was so distracted by they strange cadence of the narrator that I couldn't listen to this book. I have loved all of her books, so I was sad that I couldn't enjoy this one.

Horrible
Revisado: 08-17-20
Gaslighting, verbal abuse, and cognitive dissonance masked as a "romance". Please don't recommend this to younger women. So unhealthy.

Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

Another fantastic, charming, and witty book in the Lady Hardscastle series. I tried to savor it and listen slowly but it's hard to because I enjoy TE Kinsey' s writing so much. I highly recommend this series to all my friends.

Historia
Spring, 1909, and Lady Hardcastle, amateur sleuth and all-round eccentric, is enjoying a well-deserved rest. But a week after a trip to the cattle market, Spencer Caradine, a local farmer, turns up dead in the pub, face-down in his beef and mushroom pie. Once again, it is up to Lady Hardcastle and her maid, Florence, to solve the case. Armed with wit and whimsy, not to mention Florence’s mean right hook, the pair set out to discover what really happened and why. Was it poison or just ill luck?
