Very well done LitRPG. I enjoyed the characters and story is very engaging. Some things fall into the main characters lap, but I doesn't distract from the Story or seem totally unearned. Looking forward to book 2.

Great Story that treats the main character poorly

This book started out great and hooked me right away. Excellent world building, vivid environments and interesting characters. The main character has a lot of depth and promise. As the story moves along everything and everyone around the main character moves forward, while the main character (mc) at best stalls and in some circumstances he regresses. Maybe the author is setting the MC up for some leveling up and character growth in future books, but right now he is wasted.
The other POV and supporting characters are rich and show growth throughout the book. The book starts with a bang and ends meekly without much resolution. I had trouble getting through the last hour or so.

Very interesting, very thoughtful sci-fi book with a plot on low simmer. Not for the inpatient reader/listener, but will pay off for those who give the book time to get where it’s going.

What did you love best about Monster Hunter International?
The entire book is an epic quest full of blood, monsters and lead/silver. I started the series expecting a "popcorn movie." Instead, I got a well thought out story with many twist and turns, and characters that I became invested in. This is a must have.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Franks. Because he's Franks. Just listen to the book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I had to get out of the car to work and eat.

Great first book in a series that keeps getting better.
