Historia
Chapter One, titled The Rise of the Converso Problem, provides the historical context for the mass conversions of 1391. It will do so by providing a survey of important events in the history of Iberian Jewry from the Late Roman Period until the massacres of 1391. The second chapter, titled Christian Attitudes Towards Conversos, surveys the range of Christian views towards Conversos during the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries.

The reader of this book neglected to inform himself on how to pronounce the many Spanish words and names correctly. He also occasionally mispronounces English words. In his favor, I would say he has a very pleasant sounding voice.

Historia
Henry Worsley spent his life idolizing Ernest Shackleton, the 19th-century polar explorer who tried to become the first person to reach the South Pole and later sought to cross Antarctica on foot. Worsley felt an overpowering connection to those expeditions. In 2008, Worsley set out across Antarctica with two other descendants of Shackleton's crew, battling the freezing, desolate landscape and life-threatening physical exhaustion. He soon felt compelled to go back. In 2015, Worsley bid farewell to his family and embarked on his most perilous quest: to walk across Antarctica alone.

Odd selection of reader
Revisado: 11-09-18
Great story, well written but extremely odd selection of reader. Listening to someone with a strong US southern accent speaking the words of British polar explorers seemed out of place. Reader also “over-acted” with high frequency, something both Shackleton and Worsley, the two heroes of the story, would surely have found off-putting. Better Kindle than Audible until this is read by someone else!

Historia
In the heart of the Swiss Alps stand the three majestic peaks of the Bernese Oberland, Europe's most famous mountain range. The highest, at 13,638 feet, is the Jungfrau. Next is the Mönch at 13,465 feet. But it is the smallest, the Eiger, rising 13,038 feet above sea level, that is by far the deadliest.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Different reader.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Sounded like he was the guy who couldn't make it for the preliminary audtions for the ninth grade play.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. Jack Olsen is an excellent writer. The narrator ruined it.
