Historia
Jill's wedding to police chief Greg King is just days away, at a historic Spanish mission with a courtyard full of olive trees. But the folks in South Cove are more intrigued by what kind of ceremonies might be going on behind the walls of New Hope. Jill isn't fond of the man, but his followers seem nice, and they buy a lot of books. After a distraught woman stops by at Coffee, Books, and More with a picture of her daughter, who she believes needs rescuing from the suspected cult—and then Matthews's body is found, at Jill's wedding venue of all places—Jill makes a commitment to solve the case.

Good plot mostly.
Revisado: 02-05-25
Like the characters, the plot was pretty good but the person who read read the story was not very good. She rushed the words and that took the normal warmth of the characters away.

The best author around!
Revisado: 07-03-24
I love every single book written by David Rosenfelt. This one included! My only problem is that now I have a long wait for the next one. Any way we could clone this amazing author so we could have at least 24 books written by him every year?

Historia
An unexpected death on a lonely road outside of Utah’s Bears Ears National Park raises questions for Navajo Tribal Police officers Jim Chee and Bernadette Manuelito. Why would a seasoned outdoorsman and well-known paleontologist freeze to death within walking distance of his car? A second death brings more turmoil. Who is the unidentified man killed during a home invasion where nothing seems to have been taken? Why was he murdered? An illicit business, a fossilized jaw bone, hints of witchcraft, and a mysterious disappearance during a blizzard add to the peril.

Disjointed and depressing. This story bounced around between personal problems, political issues, greed, and a very weak murder mystery. So disappointing.

Another fun and creative story full of animals and good people winning! The tale kept me reading and the ending had enough of a twist to make me laugh even though I knew one of the bad people early on.
