much better than 1st book
Revisado: 05-26-24
Enjoyed this quite a bit. Much better plot & easier to follow storyline than 1st book but where it really shines over its predecessor is in the performance. The first books attempt at making Carrie sound like a mix of NY, NJ, Boston and Cranston, RI, none of which she lived was painful. Both unnecessary and poorly done. This voice actor was great which made for a much more enjoyable listening experience. Recommended.

story was mediocre. performance was terrible. worst attempt at a New York/New England accent. It was a nasal mishmash of New York/Jersey, Boston and Cranston RI. Terrible

good narration and concise info
Revisado: 05-15-24
Basic but very good introduction to the subject that will leave you with enough knowledge to begin your journey, with several easy to follow guides for specific techniques. Definitely will both help you find and persue different areas of breathing/breath work/etc but will give you plenty to do while you continue to explore. A short listen & then re-listen to specific parts will have you feeling confident in a few days at most. Definitely best as an audio book. Well performed too! Recommended as an intro or even just for the few good exercises that you are walked through in a very easy to follow manner. Experienced people are not the target audience but IMO I think this is exactly what you want in an introductory type book. Good basic background w/out getting bogged down, easy to follow exercises that really show the power in breathing, nothing intimidating. Even good for procrastinators because if you give it a few hours while cleaning or whatever & actually do the 3-4 excercise examples you can actually notice a difference from mid-morning to just the afternoon! I know I did. stopped & listened closer or a few times when he was describing a technique & then went about my way. To get something useful for a lifetime in a couple hrs, I'm in. I don't normally write reviews, certainly not glowing ✨️ ones like this but if you know what you are getting, this is worth every penny. thx

He is now the Tai-Pan—Supreme Leader—of all Tai-Pans in China. Along the way, however, he made a powerful enemy. Tyler Brock, Struan’s rival from their early opium-smuggling days, also heads a large trading fleet, second in size only to Struan’s. But it is not only silks and spices that drive their mutual companies’ wealth—the opium trade is still booming.

wonderful ending to a great series. A tribute to Mom for having finished her story. I wish more were on the way but I understand & respect the co-author's decision and reasoning. I've read & listened to all 3 several times. I was always hoping to see what the future had in store for Freya & Hugo. Thank you & RIP Elizabeth

Unique & wonderful story. War"s not black & white
Revisado: 06-09-23
loved the many different perspectives presented in this quite unique book about the human side of WWII. I've read dozens of nonfiction titles as well as 50 or more novels of this topic and time period, very few approach that points of view presented in Broken Angels. My biggest complaint being that I wish I'd been twice as long. Well worth the read from someone who reads well over 100 books of all sorts yearly.
Having both read & listened to this book I found the print(digital or paperback) to be easier to follow because of the multiple narrators. Either format is well worth it.The best, IMHO, s if you can listen and read at the same time. Enjoy.
Pastel Orphans, by the same author was enjoyable too & is nearly as good as Broken Angels.
