Historia
Betty Bard MacDonald (1907 - 1958), the best-selling author of The Egg and I and the classic Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle children's books, burst onto the literary scene shortly after the end of World War II. Readers embraced her memoir of her years as a young bride operating a chicken ranch on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, and The Egg and I sold its first million copies in less than a year.

Wonderful insight into Betty Macdonald s life
Revisado: 10-07-16
the story is absorbing. the subject, Betty Macdonald was a fascinating person. I loved her books. Paul has done a terrific job of bringing Betty to life. Would have preferred a more skilled narrator.

kept me awake 3 nights to finish.
Revisado: 01-14-14
Enjoyable mix of mystery, regional awareness and love story. New York policewoman in French aristocratic milieu, highlights differences in murder investigation procedures. Captivating story and characters. The narrator, Kathe Mazur is first rate in both French & English. Fought hard to stay awake till it was resolved. Parting left unfinished. Perhaps we will hear more in future books

Historia
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

The perfect pack, dog and master
Revisado: 02-27-13
The very best story I have read in years. Not usually my subject but the review hooked me. Literally could not turn it off. The devotion of dog and handler is told so sympathetically.
Emotional and compelling.

Historia
Appearances can be deceptive; but the truth is a dangerous thing.... On the night Brian Bishop murdered his wife he was sixty miles away, asleep in bed at the time. At least that's the way it looks to Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, who is called in to investigate the kinky slaying of beautiful socialite, Katie Bishop. Roy Grace soon starts coming to the conclusion that Bishop has performed the apparently impossible feat of being in two places at once.

seriously in need of a good editor

There is too much description of every kind.Chapter 91 and still on day 3 of murder enquiry, which is hardly touched on.

Transported from the mid-twentieth century to New York City in the year 1882, Si Morley walks the fashionable "Ladies' Mile" of Broadway, is enchanted by the jingling sleigh bells in Central Park, and solves a 20th-century mystery by discovering its 19th-century roots. Love time travel and Jack Finney.
Revisado: 09-22-12
Where does Time and Again rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best stories in my stash and very well told. I still have the original book and have read it three times.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course, Si Morley as the protagonist is so willing to believe that there is something more than this present life. But Rubin Prien can charm the birds.
Have you listened to any of Paul Hecht’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first experience with Paul Hecht's performance and it is dead on.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Yesterday is just across Central Park
