Historia
When six childhood friends get together for their annual girl's weekend at the beach in Port Aransas, none could have believed it would be for the very last time. Nina Evans had been saddled with organizing the weekend each year, pulling five of her oldest friends together for a few nights of fun and reminiscing, the one time a year they saw each other. Each year was much the same—laughter, dancing, and lots of drinking. This time was no different. That is, until Jones walked out of the dance club with a stranger.

Cute Romance Murder Mystery
Revisado: 11-15-24
Another murder mystery romance by Gerri Hill! I loved the chemistry between the main characters. The build up was sweet and their story was well worth the listen. Murder mystery side definitely kept you guessing and about the same time as the main characters figured out who done it, so did the “reader,” which was an interesting twist.
I have personally either read or listened to all of Gerri Hill’s books. I very much enjoyed Quinn’s character and the fact she had grown from a different past. Nina was someone I’d like to hang out with. Overall I’m very pleased with the story.
Abby Craden continues to showcase her outstanding vocie acting. I liked her choices for the charter and how she performed this book. She always makes it easy to recognize who is who when listening to one of her readings.

A Good Old Fashioned Romance
Revisado: 07-28-24
This book was a good old fashioned romance. The author does a good job of describing the scene to help you understand what the characters are doing and the importance of their dress. I particularly enjoy the science/art theme throughout the book. The dialogue was fitting for the era they lived in and I enjoyed the subtle changes depicting the change in emotions or feelings. The more explicit scenes were tasteful and a few of them left me weak in the knees. The story arch was nice and I enjoyed the character development along the way.
I appreciate the narrators English accent especially given the book takes place in England. What I wasn’t a big fan of was the narrator’s choice for one of the main character’s voices. She’s in her 30’s, but the voice she chose made her sound much older. I also feel the book itself left something to be desired reference angst it tried to build. Overall, it’s a good lesbian romance with a happy ending.

The Book that Started It All
Revisado: 07-18-24
This was the first Gerri Hill book that I read that turned me on to her as an author. Since that afternoon in the Barnes and Nobles several years ago, I have read/listened to every piece she has wrote. I would highly recommend this book. The main characters are awesome people, who you are rooting for by the end. And the PLOT TWIST was completely unexpected and thrilling. Definitely is a great mystery/romance novel!

Worth the Listen
Revisado: 07-13-24
It took me longer than I liked to admit to adjust to the narrator’s methods for this book, but eventually I was able to clearly make out the two main characters “voices.” It’s a feel good, slow burn, western romance with a bit of angst and sex galore. Ultimately, I would recommend it if you enjoy a good butch/femme, cowgirl/city girl romance, with an ending that makes you glad you stayed.

Historia
Park ranger Kyler Clemons had loved the vibe and the beach of Mustang Island. Getting caught with her boss’ wife, however, got her transferred to the wild and remote Davis Mountains State Park - in the middle of nowhere. Now after four years, she’s forgotten about the beach and has embraced the mountain life, feeling like a local. She hangs out at the Cottonwood Creek Bar and Grill. She watches football with Mark Walton. She’s taken up birdwatching and stargazing. She is perfectly content. No stress. No drama. And no desire to date. Then Lexie Walton waltzes into her life.

Overall a sweet romance story of overcoming trauma and accepting oneself. I love Gerri Hill books and this was no exception. I appreciate Carson and Carrie’s slow burn and hope to have a squeal with them!
