Historia
Continuously available in print since 1968, this novel has become embedded in progressive anti-racist culture with wide circulation of the book and hotly debated film. A literary classic, The Spook Who Sat by the Door is a strong comment on entrenched racial inequities in the United States in the late 1960s. With its focus on the “militancy” that characterized the Black Power movement of the 1960s and 1970s, this is the story of one man’s reaction to ruling-class hypocrisy.

And the Emmy goes to...
Revisado: 02-21-23
The book itself is a classic tale that deserves a movie unto itself. Doubt any production companies would back that up. However, the reader is beyond gifted, transformative, and out right life giving.

Wanna do good?...Listen.
Revisado: 03-27-21
It was affirming and filled with old school truth that is otherwise called wisdom. I can't count the correlations with the book of Proverbs because I not going to study the Bible : ) but God's presence and presents is undeniable in this book. I appreciate the level of intimacy when Mr. Smiley shares sacred moments with his family so that we can envision healing in our own lives. In a media frenzy world, it is good to the importance of humility and loyalty demonstrated with excellence.
