Excellent book that artfully explores themes on and experiences of motherhood, loneliness, feminine rage, female friendship, being an artist, and marriage. I don’t recommend this book for cat lovers (I, a cat lover myself, almost couldn’t finish this book; I’m glad I did, but it was hard) but please listen at your discretion. Fabulous performance by the narrator. There were some moments where I laughed so loud I scared my girlfriend in the other room. Men will not get this book. They may try, but this one is really truly for the girlies.

With hints of humor, loads of grace, and heaps of great information for cultivating a magical space, “The Magical Household” was a delight from start to finish. Full of helpful tips on feng shui to spring cleaning, to the spiritual benefits of pets, this was very interesting as well as informative for a witch such as myself. Thank you, Scott and David!

Dave does an excellent job providing super in-depth context into everything about Susan’s story. I grew up in Utah and was around 12 when Susan disappeared from her West Valley home. I lived about ten minutes away from the Powell home at that point, and one of my good friends from church was a relative. I really appreciate how much original audio Dave uses, even though it can be hard to listen to.

I read the print version of this book when it came out in 2020, and that was great, but Jake Abel's performance is STELLAR. I've listened (and re-listened) to this audiobook more times than I care to admit. On top of that, having read the four original books first, and then getting to go back and see Edward's perspective is delightful. Now, I'll admit that if you don't like the original Twilight series, this probably won't be for you, but if you're a twihard like me, I can't recommend it enough. I do think the insight into Edwards thoughts throughout the story are important and really contextualize why he's such an asshole. He's also kind of a clueless dumbass throughout the beginning, which is endearing. There's also Meyer's signature wry humor throughout the book, which is probably good considering how much more disturbing the story is when told from a vampiric perspective. Excellent.

This book is exactly what I needed. I am so grateful for the insight this book provided, and my biggest takeaway was that shame is the enemy of progress. Very well done, KC 💕
